My 80 year old mother loves to sit in her bedroom and crochet & look out the window at all the squirrels & birds roaming about. We live in a nice country home deep in the woods. She started off putting bird seed and sunflower seed out on a table level with her window. Before she knew it the squirrels were eating more than the birds. Now she has one particular squirrel that's a bit nosier than the rest. 😁 when mother has her window open he will pop his little furry head in and look around & wait for her to give him a treat. She gives them all kinds of goodies. He absolutely loves apples. Mother is the happiest I've seen her since Dad passed away in 2022. They were married 60 years. God blessed me with the best parents. They taught me to care for all of Gods creatures and I am forever grateful. 🌟🫶🌟

The life of a wild animal or bird is harsh, we have it easy with all our food at a store already collected or hunted for us, they don't so if they see a free meal on offer they take it, it will save them valuable energy having to spend all day foraging.

A safe and well prepared warm hole on the tree trunk for everyone. Nature can be very cold, very unpleasant, even "cruel". I don't think squirrels truly hibernate. Any amount of warm sunshine on a winter- short-day is wonderful. For us as well in cold climates.

My mom is 85 and lives in a care facility. Her room has a sliding door which leads onto a beautiful outdoor setting. She LOOOOVES the squirrels! She feeds them everyday and knows each one. One of the squirrels developed a growth on his neck and it was so sad for her to watch him become weaker. It was hard on us too. I have learned about squirrels since she has started on this fun journey. They live to be around 16 years! Of course environmental issues play into that. I will have to show her your videos. I feed my squirrels regularly and have seen a hawk. When I see it, I’ll go out chasing it and found that it doesn’t get intimidated very easily. 😬

I started feeding the squirrels that were around my apartment building and someone complained and the building owners told me I had to stop. They said they were doing too much damage. So now do it at our local parks. Thanks for your video. I love all the wildlife videos on youtube

@@georgehenderson7783 I never saw any damage. I think it was some person in our lowest apts. Their windows are ground level and some have little flower gardens. Probably the squirrels were digging and bury their nuts.

Made me nervous when the squirrel kept chillin in tha street! 😮 My heart! Cute Lil thing! 🤗 Thank you for taking care of the squirrels. When we kids were young, from the woods of NW Michigan on Lake Michigan.🎉It's was SO BEAUTIFUL living there. There was a cute black squirrel that always jumped into one of my mom's window planters to be in the kitchen window looking for his food. 😂 We fed LOTS of animals & lotsa deer everywhere! My father had acreage AND woods. So did our other neighbors. Private property in the front, private woods in tha back! no HUNTING on our Private Properties. And the land behind our personal woods is state park land. No hunting for miles & miles!! 🥳 🎉 ❤

That was very interesting. It's clear that the squirrels are distrustful of the bag but it's also clear that they know that if it is on your windowsill, it won't hurt them. Manny really didn't like the bag. He sat and chattered at it for a while. He even seemed to consult Kiara about it! Manny still seems to be fascinated about what is going on inside your apartment.

For the past two years our big walnut tree didn’t produce because of ill timed weather events, so this year it was *ready.* It just dropped over 1000 pounds of nuts. I mean it was *biblical.* Wish we could fix you up because they need to be shared!
