I was in my 6th grade when this tournament took place in Lanka. Other two nations of this quadrangular nation competition was India and Zimbabwe. This was Tendulkar's first stint as Indian captain. He made a century in India's very first match of this tournament. Unfortunately India couldn't make to the finals. Another surprise was their was a friendly match which was rain spoilt, featuring India and Australia in one team against Sri Lanka. Indo-Aus went to bat first with Sachin and Mark Waugh opening the innings, made a 100 partnership without losing a wicket when rain poured.
