I own one and it is by far the best bike I’ve ever ridden. There’s a tune online that removes the heavy throttle restrictions, throttle body limitations(throttle only opens to 70% at wide open) and torque limitations in the first 3 gears while also increasing horsepower from 165 to 183 and torque from 165 to 171. The bike is insane before and a literal monster after.

@Homie look at the yamaha Niken, it was a similar concept but even more extreme. Pushing the envelope of what we design as a motorcycle and doing it for the sheer pride of it. And I think this bike overall is more adept than it seems to be on paper.

I took delivery of my Rocket 3R, 8 months ago. I wanted effortless cruising, easy low speed riding, ridiculous accelleration, decent handling, good brakes, good shocks, traction control, abs brakes, cruise control, great looks, smooth throttle control, hill start hold, not a Harley ( only because everyone has got one, and I do love them too), and could hold its head up among Harley riders, awesome build quality and something I could see myself riding for many years to come. That's what I got and I love it. No regrets from me.

@@rykehuss3435 Well, the VMax puts out 200hp stock, they are about the same weight, so I guess it would have to do with the rider and how well the rear wheel grabs. I sat on the R3 and hated it. The seat is VERY wide and Im normal height and weight.

I bought a 2007 Rocket 111 new years ago. The transmission out put bearing failed around the time warranty ran out. Triumph did repair the bike under a warranty claim. A dealer upgrade kit was installed. I must say the repair took a few months to sort out. I still ride this bike, it is one of 10 I have. A little top heavy until you get used to the weight of the machine. It is by far the fastest bike I have ever rode. When you roll back the throttle, hold on because you are in for a ride. I test drove a new Rocket 3 last weekend for the first time. It was at the Triumph demo days and they had this bike tucked in the back for advanced riders only. I was blown away, the low end torque was amazing, power at any RPM. It was the fastest bike I've ever been on, can't really compare it to a sport bike because sport bikes need really high RPM for power, this has power at any RPM. At 60 mph in 4th gear the RPM was only 2,000 which blew me away, I'm sure you could go super fast on this bike without winding it out. Riding on gravel with pot holes was rough though, it's a street suspension for sure. And yes, it feels like you are riding a rocket LOL.

I just hit the 2.000km with my brand new R3R, and this is the greatest ... monstersize roadster ever made. Despite the fact that Triumph tried to lure the cruiser customer base with the R3GT, most people in Europe (according to my Triumph dealer) tend to have the middle instead of the forward foot controls. The fact is that I bought my R3R as a 400km used motorcycle, because the previous owner actually thought it would be a cruiser (had the bags, sissy bar, luggage rack) and got so disappointed he sold it back (minus approx. 7.000€) to buy a real cruiser. Lucky me ! The reasons he gave the dealer are basically crazy arm-stripping torque, no wind protection even with a custom windshield, and passenger seat is a wood plate. Really, if you're looking for a cruiser, give up on the R3, GT or R.

After 40+ years and approximately 750,000 total miles; health impedimates closed the door on my beloved career on motorcycles. If I was to be granted a second chance the new Rocket III would be the bike. I once owned a 2014 R3 Roadster for two years. Of all the motorcycles and many genres of motorcycles I owned since 1969 my R3 Roadster put an ear-to-ear grin on my face the from the moment I threw my leg over it. The ONE thing it(and every other 500+lb motorcycle) needs is the Norman Hossack design(BMW-Duel lever) front suspension or an applicable Saxon - Motodd (BMW-Tele-lever) suspension. Not only would these 1/4 ton beasts handle much better and NOT brake-dive so violently, but GONE would be the all too regular and costly replacement of steering stem bearings every ten thousand(or so) miles. There are very valid reasons BMW keeps the "Tele-lever" on the 600lb 1250GS and "Duo-lever" on their 700+lb 6 cylinder super cruisers, and Honda adopted the "Norman Hossack design" to their Goldwing.

Thanks for the video every time I listen I'm blind now and every time I listen to these videos I'm just blown away I lived and breathed motorcycles and cars for decades started to go blind I have a genetic disease it's progressive started to go blind where it really started the impact me in the very late 80s early 90s but I was still able to ride and drive a car it was just getting a little hairy after a few experiences that I won't get into it was time to put both away so what I did was from 1993 or 94 I just put motorcycles out of my mind literally and again I lived motorcycles and it was a big thing for me to do all right so all these decades go bye a friend of mine finally gets a lot and he always wants a Harley he gets a road King and 1999 so I started to look up videos for him you know about safety and stuff just dropping the bike and the stores he was telling me was making me cringe and I saw this when I say so but you know these videos of the technology today and all I had no idea all these legacy all-time motorcycle companies that went to put bankrupt whatever or back and that blew me away number one my friend said who got the wrong thing he was telling me how they all went out for a ride six of them k even the emotional tears I I shed you know they weren't out of anger or anything like that it was very very private moment that I'm sharing but you know getting God as his plans and and you know you got to accept what what is and move on with your life maybe God will put it in my in my in my plan to maybe get my eyesight back up somehow you know through a new research and stuff but you never know God does amazing things. And I do love the little bible exit you read before you go for the ride that's really cool especially I'm hearing a lot of the Old testament I'm from the Hebrew persuasion LOL I'm an American I also live many years in Israel I have tool citizenship and it's really cool to hear the Old testament being quoted and read you know that's my Bible That's the Bible that you know I read from and that I know and that my people use just the Old testament anyway back to motorcycles yeah thank you for this motorcycle channel it's really cool and now all these f****** watching a lot of your videos listening listening listening LOL I do have some sight and it's not useful really under like the most perfect situations I can see some things but nothing has clarity a definition but like you know I can tell the shape and stuff and even sometimes depending on the lighting on my phone I can see something you know really have a lot of trouble seeing any of the motorcycles and you have videos but not a problem for you and the rest of the world LOL but yeah keep them coming I'm going to keep going through them and I'm much more accepting now I'm not getting crazy depressed although there's still that tug in the back of my head and back of my mind that wants to get on one of these things so badly but again it is what it is and I'm going to keep on learning as much as I can when I get into something I also a musician I used to be a professional drama and I play guitar and that's another thing I stopped playing guitar at about the same time I stopped riding and driving for the same reasons I never realized how much I depended on looking at the fretboard when I was playing but in 2015 2016 I got a little thought in my head and see what's doing look up the first guitar you bought electric guitar and see what it cost and like a week later I bought one and I have seven now yeah crazy right and I'm playing really good I'm much better than I was when I first started again and I'm not you know I can't see anything to play you know I can see the guitar but I can't see the fretboard or anything I'm playing total by muscle memory and you know a cool experience but yeah you know God put that back in my life you know we'll see what happens ao the possibility right all right on to the next video sincerely Bob the blind bedroom guitars hey have fun out there on your motorcycles and I like what he says it's not what you write but where you're going I just want to say one other thing one of the things I loved about motorcycles riding them is I would just go out right if the motor like when I live in New York which I'm living now they had to wear a helmet you know but on my helmet my clothes and I would just go I would just go in a direction I take my Honeywell pen text my 1964 Honeywell and I would put it around my neck k yeah that's what some of the coolest things I had a thousand pictures that I took you know like I said just pick a direction a road and go and you know wherever it takes you whatever tells you to turn off here and yeah that's what I used to love too and I've done my road trips I think I said above I've done the colony I've done Sturgis I've done Daytona you know all over the country yeah but those were really great memories all right I'm going to stop now I'm just babbling and I'm sure it was boring to most people sincerely again bought the blind bedroom guitarists go out there get on your bikes and have fun be safe and again have fun for me

Currently have a Raider and have been eyeballing these for my next bike. Not that I really need one as the Raider is excellent. But, there is always that manly desire for wanting something bigger. With that price tag I probably wont end up getting one of these though :( My Raider cost about 1/4 the price and is still meaner than majority of the cruisers out there. I would go for the GT model if I was to get one though. There are only a handful of bikes I would consider as an upgrade to my Raider that I actually like the look of. I don't like the look of the Diavel. Vmax looks decent, if not a little odd. I like how beefy the Rocket looks.

Owned several Victory motorcycles, Jackpot 106 ci being one, and that dry weight was 649 lbs. It had 100 hp or so, and good torque of about 106 and thought that bike was manageable and had great power. Even had a Cross Country that was nearly 765 lbs. Accrued about 100,000 kilometers of travel on the Victories and found them to be great bikes for cruising and for touring, often with two up and full luggage. If anyone with any experience riding is worried about the Rocket 640 lbs of dry weight, forgettaboutit! With 165 hp or so and near equal torque, as most test riders will tell you, it is all you will need. You can get it remapped if you want and get another 30 hp or so at the wheel and really wake up the beast! My recent bike was a '19 KTM 1290 Super Duke GT, with 175 hp and weight of about 500 lbs, so I am able to compare lighter bikes with big power to the heavier ones. For me, the big beasts are my preference. A 2023/24 Rocket GT is on my list for this upcoming summer and I am glad to be excited about a bike again, as the Rocket meets the form and function appeal for me. Great review! Thanks!
