For those saying "Just reflect lol", it is not that simple. There is a reason why they made Kazuya's reflector as strong as it is: it is tied with a very awkward input. If your motion speed is fast enough, you could go for DP motion inputs very fast since it is one continuous motion. However, Kazuya's reflector is a double dash forward input, meaning that you have to input forward, move the stick back to neutral, then input forward again to get the reflector kick come out. This is mechanically very hard to borderline impossible to do in reaction to a projectile, so most of the time, you have to predict the projectile ahead of time in order to make the reflector work. This is different from Min Min's up smash, which is a simple up smash that only requires you to move the stick upwards to do.

This is a nightmare MU for Kazuya. He doesn't really have the mobility to get past her traps, and she's heavy enough to live through a lot of his power.

He does, Smash players just don't have the execution for it which is understandable given the controllers they use and the inputs they're used to doing. Remember that wavu will go under projectiles and you can naturally do your reflector out of wavu with a single forward input. It's a really weird situation where he has some of the highest potential in the game by far but he requires multiple skillsets at an excellent level to really shine.

His Smash execution is obviously top tier but Kazuya's options are *not* Smash execution. He doesn't even iws2 from wavu which is extremely easy to do from wavu in Smash and oppressively strong. Let alone reflectors.

@@Julietmateus I think that's way too idealistic, most of the skills that you are referring to that riddles isnt using isnt due to the fact that he hasn't trained to be able to use them, but because all of those inputs force your character to move a certain direction rather than stay in place. Samus in this match up forces you to be unable to even advance forward. The fact that he doesnt even have the opportunity to move towards her in space means he cant afford to use the abilities in the first place. Samus doesnt just randomly fire her neutral B so he can dodge, she fires it when he literally cant do anything to escape it. If he gets up from the ledge, immediate neutral B, if he jumps from ledge, immediate punish, if he rolls from ledge, immediate neutral B. If he dashes through rocket, immediate neutral B. Also in terms of kazuya kit, you will never be able to utilize all of it even if you wanted to, because depending on match ups, different moves are punishble and not viable. Just cause he has a lot of moves doesnt mean hes good. Samus limited almost all of his viable moves to nothing.

Inability to close the gap, exploitable recoveries, linear and predictable neutrals, and straight up terrible matchups. I can't see Kazuya being any higher than high tier.
