very cool video. Maybe it's just me, but I find your videos becoming more immersive, atmospheric and natural. There are organic changes of pace and very "human" moments of just taking it all in, not running off a script. The weaving of Kiki's vocalizations reaches a beautiful end note, tying the beginning with the video's conclusion. Very well done. Thanks!

@@christinasimpson7750 How did you determine that? If I may ask! My only child was a girl born in 1976. Everyone swore that I was carrying a boy, including me. I (don’t know why I thought that), anyway, many (most) had their own “old wive’s tale” version. My aunt also had her idea of “WHEN”,her birth would be. She told me from the beginning the 27th of Sept. (her b-day). The doc said the 12th. I thought the middle of August. Went into labor on Sunday, the 26th. (Sept.) Birth was on Monday, 27th at 5:46 am. About a month later, my aunt passed away. Needless to say, I’m happy she was correct. (Lost my daughter & only child on 9/13/‘94. Brain tumor)Anyway, sorry such a long story for one little question!

Congratulations on getting all the funds you needed for a new engine. I do believe that you are probably one of the, if not the most popular sailor on the KZbin videos. I did some thinking about one of your comments about the engine blowing up carbon or smoke. There is a chemical additive that you can add to the fuel periodically that can help keep the engine cleaner called seafoam. You may want to try use of that to help keep your engine from getting carbons up like that. Wanted to draw backs of ready to the engine at low speed for long periods of time like that is that they get lots of carbon build up. The only two ways that I know of preventing the carbon buildup is to be able to run the engines at a higher RPM for long periods of time or or adding a chemical additive to the fuel periodically.

The beautiful sunrise was a misleading start to the day as it didn’t take long for the rain to start. A bilingual chatterbox bird. What a treat. Love Tiki. Thanks for taking us along.😎
@donaldchasedgc49353 жыл бұрын
Actually Tiki is parroting (imatating) what she hears. Most of the sounds and words that she speaks are probably not understood by Tiki. They are very intellent birds and like a child can learn what those words mean, a prerequisite of being multilingual, but that takes much longer that just learning to reproduce the sounds that she hear. Parrots are called parrots, because of their ability to imitate the sounds that they hear. There are roughly a thousand species of parrot around the world all of which have some ability to reproduce the sounds that they hear. African grays like Tiki are amongst the best imitators out there. An Africa Gray can accurately produce just about any sound they hear with great precision. The largest vocabulary held by any parrot is held by the common parakeet or more correctly known as a budgie. Last I heard they can speak over a hundred different phrases and words.

I see the tiki has developed quite a few words and she speaks so clearly. I'm impressed. Our parrot named Angel is not quite as talkative as Tiki is but after 27 years he has started to build a decent vocabulary. Angel, who is a Umbrella Cockatoo, the species of which comes from Indonesia. His larger cousin, the Mullocan Cockatoo, is about twice as big and has a salmon pink color to them. Angel has finally gotten over the loss of my wife and has become very talkative and loves to spend lots of time with Peter and I now. I was really worried that Angel might be become very depressed after my wife passed away and become self-destructive. Fortunately we've gotten through that stage now. Peter is getting better at handling Angel also now.

My onboard boating RBC Galah ‘Lorenzo’ heard Tiki talking. Lorenzo began to repeat ‘do you want some breakfast’ again and again. Was Tiki waiting for breakfast? 7:00PM here when we watched. Lorenzo typically only talks about breakfast first thing after waking up. He clues into Tiki chatter each time we watch even when Tiki is not in the camera, only picked up on the mic’ Amazing…. Hope Tiki was rewarded with a fantastic fresh veg breakfast after her morning chatter.

Hey Rick thank you for the great video. Have a couple questions for you; one do you normally shoot 29 frames for mid or 59 frames per minute? Second one would you be going to the boat show in Annapolis in October? I know several other KZbin channels are going did not know if you were? FYI I saw a debate on frame rates the other day and they said that the best cinematic Frame rate is 24 .?
