Fantastic video as always! I have not yet watched the entire journey - only till Winterthur. But I will surely do so. The lakeside section was really a pleasure to watch. Couldn't help but notice one thing -- at 35:50 that freight train is stopped on the opposite direction mainline and immediately behind it is an InterCity which has slowed down because of the freight train. Isn't that a little unusual? Also, when you change videos after Frauenfeld, is it a different locomotive type, there seems to be a difference in the noise. Even the overall speed seems a bit faster (though I maybe mistaken).
@lorirocks7773 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure what the problem with the freight train was. The locomotive type is the same, you are however right about the speed. The second train only consists of a pair of locomotives, allowing faster speeds.

I assume the need for two locomotives was to keep up with passenger schedules to improve train acceleration. If this had been a night run would one loco be sufficient? The sugar beet train at 35,50 was causing 'confusion and delay' . Was it a case of removing the empties first and then reversing in the full or the full can be reversed straight into unloading ?

0:27:38 Can honestly say I have never seen a switch arrangement like this before now. Looks like a double-slip switch that never got finished. To the best of my knowledge, here in the United States diamond crossings were/are kept free of moving parts, with any interchange trackage and related switches remaining separate. 0:42:26 First time, too, seeing a pedestrian underpass/subway accessing a farmer's field. Hope none of the livestock find their way down those steps.
