Finally! So many in society minimize menopause, including other women who were lucky enough not to have symptoms. Everything changed about me, my skin, hair, weight, mood, and those awful hot flashes. It wasn't until my GYN involved did I feel validation and a little hope. As a kid, I remember television shows simply excluded women over forty.

yep yes everyone minimises it even women at that age and who went through it.. they think you are excusing, labelling, want attention etc etc

Holy crap…where were you 10-13 years ago. My body was going crazy and all of the doctors kept saying, “ Nope, you’re too young for menopause.” Turns out, I wasn’t but no one would talk about it! Thank you for the rest of the women out there who, if they listen, will find this to be very helpful.

So important! Thanks Stacy! As a Gen Xer, all I ever knew about menopause was the All in the Family episode when one day Edith went nuts.....and then they acted like it was over in a week!!☺☺

Another Gen X'er here, and I feel the same. I couldn't talk to my mother because she had a hysterectomy and HRT in her 30's.

I just turned 59 and the only symptom of menopause I have experienced is that I no longer have a period..they stopped when I was about 45. Other than that, I feel wonderful, physically and mentally..no hot flashes or anything I read about would happen. I guess I am just blessed.

I just turned 60 and the only symptom for me during menopause was weight gain, which I still battle. I got lucky because my mom had it very bad.

Food allergies?! Seriously? Due to perimenopause?? Why?
@oceans.and.deserts2 ай бұрын
It's apparently food sensitivities and intolerances, not true food allergies (IgE mediated), that can be brought on by fluctuating and decreasing hormone levels. I can't find any good medical sources to back this, which doesn't mean it isn't occurring. Menopause lacks scientific research, overall. Hope that helps.

@@oceans.and.deserts so then not anaphylactic shock? Milder symptoms then?

The medical field has always spoken about menopause, you just weren’t listening.
