Sarah Steer It sounds like you are in Stage 4 of your midlife crisis, and it is really easy to get caught in negative thinking. The key now is to stop looking at everything that you have lost because if you start doing the deep inner work, you will get way more than you ever lost, and you will look back and see that you deserved so much more than what you thought you did at that time.

@@Theeagleinstitute Hopefully you will consider reconciling with your husband as well. That is the true sign of a person who benefits and matures from such a crisis. The house and other material things can be regained. But relationships are more precious and valuable, especially if there were kids involved. A focus on your individual self is always great. Reconciling and helping other to heal from direct or indirect actions during your crisis is equally important.

As I wife who’s husband is going through a midlife crisis, it is a nightmare, we are in the middle of a divorce, there’s an affair with a friend who’s much younger than him, abandoned his family. This needs to be said, people romanticize it and it’s horrid.
@Theeagleinstitute Жыл бұрын
I am not romanticizing a midlife crisis, or people avoiding their inner growth by acting out, and many people act out in creative ways, divorce, affairs, drugs, additions and other forms of destructive behaviour are far too common because the person having the midlife crisis doesn’t have the skills or doesn’t want to do the spiritual work that causes a midlife crisis. Not everybody has an affair during Midlife Crisis, some people do the inner work and recognize that the feelings of dissatisfaction are due to their growth journey, which midlife crisis is a part of. So the question is, what can the parters (i.e. wife/husband/ romantically connected other committed relationships) do? First of all, have good boundaries about what is acceptable, and do your own inner spiritual and healing journey. We are coming into a time where more people are realizing that everything in their life is an opportunity to grow. This is not an excuse for bad behaviour, people that have the inner skills tend not to have affairs, or act out in other ways that are common during midlife crisis. I wish you all the best on your inner journey.

Midlife crisis is spiritual, so unless your therapist is enlightened, they won’t be much help to go beyond stage 4. All the techniques that get to the end of midlife crisis are specific to erasing your personal karma faster. @Theeagleinstitute5 жыл бұрын
You don't have to tolerate any negative feelings. These are a sign that you need to take action. Stress and midlife crisis can look similar. Often people experience both. A midlife crisis's purpose is for you to evaluate what you are doing because there is a better way for you, where you will feel happy and fulfilled. The midlife crisis process is about going into the parts of yourself that you may not even be aware of that will bring you lasting happiness and a deep sense of authenticity. It sounds like you are in the 4th state of midlife crisis and it is by actively doing the inner work of stage 5 that you will find your answers. Life wasn't great in my 30s. I was dealing with a family issue, but I seemed to be quite resilient. Then things started to fall apart. I was made redundant. My mother died of cancer and I've had some real problems with property. Now I'm mid-40s and life has lost all meaning. Reality feels broken and I don't see a future worth living.

My mom died of cancer, also. It's tough to deal with but it gets easier, slowly. I'm 50 and I had to find a new purpose so I disagree with some of the things the Canadian lady said. I try new things and it does sometimes work. I stay in shape. I work on getting over regret in my life-that is a big one. I maintain relationships with friends and talk about these things with them, too. I try new activities (learned to play guitar and do it frequently). I travel as much as I can. Try volunteering with the homeless or veterans. I do care packages for homeless people at Christmas (I'd like to do it more often). I'm a religious person so I feel that I have a purpose in God but not everyone feels that way and I understand that so you'd have to find peace in your own way.

If changing your job fixed this, then you are most likely not experiencing a midlife crisis. Changing things externally does not bring satisfaction in a midlife crisis, and that is one of the key signs that distinguishes a midlife crisis from other life problems. In a midlife crisis, the only thing that works is to do the internal work, which at times may lead to changes in a job, or other lifestyle changes, but they only bring relief or satisfaction if you go into your blind spots and heal them. Every person has a different blind spot, which is the thing in life that they avoid. I am going to do a future video on the 12 main blind spots, so subscribe to get notified when it goes up.

1. General Dissatisfaction for no apparent reason. 2. Superficial things don’t work. Changing things on outside don’t always work. Partying, drugs, excessive exercise, taking it out in those around you. 3. Start to question everything. Why am I in this relationship, marriage, job? 4. You don’t like what you see inside/outside. Who am I? 5. Deep internal work. Find the cause. 6. Transformation beyond your imagination.
@Theeagleinstitute4 жыл бұрын
The deep internal work is practicing techniques that erase the cause, and "finding it" is not necessary and can even hold you back for years. I regularly train people that can clearly talk about "why" their pain in happening, but they are stuck, and often have been for 10+years by the time they get to working with me. Depending on the meditation background that a person has, this can start with forgiveness process, include techniques that develop your awareness of your default behaviors that transform them at the same time, to advanced techniques that change how you react to situations in a fraction of the time that it takes with attempting to use mental processes, such as talk therapy and mental analysis. If you want to learn how to do this for yourself, you can schedule an evaluation here: theeagleinstitute.com/kira-schedule-call/

Sounds like what im going through right now, am thinking whether is it associated with depression? How does the two differ?
@Theeagleinstitute4 жыл бұрын
Stress, burnout and depression can look and feel similar to a midlife crisis. The difference is whether what you are experiencing is due to a lifestyle issue or due to the natural process of midlife crisis. Depression can frequently be reduced or eliminated with changes on the outside of your life, or your routine, and by just changing your thoughts to more positive ones, step by step. With a midlife crisis, you can be totally positive, have a fabulous diet, get great sleep and have no other issues, and it will happen anyway to get you to work on your weaknesses. Regardless of whether you are having a midlife crisis or feeling depressed, it is recommended that you practice simple techniques that improve your mental and emotional state. We have a quiz "Stress or Midlife Crisis?" on our website theeagleinstitute.com to get you started. You can also find more resources there. You can get through this, and you don't have to stay depressed, or struggle with a midlife crisis. There is happiness on the other side, if you practice the right techniques.

First of all, take the pressure off. Many people achieve great things and realize their dreams later in life. Anxiety can also be overcome, with practice, and one of the best things to stop the anxiety cycle in the body is breathing techniques, combined with forgiveness, which is something that many people are not aware of. The next step is to start to look for things where you are doing positive things in your life. It is amazing how quickly positive things can happen by combining these 3 powerful techniques.

Male, 34, currently stuck at stage 5. My issues seem to stem from childhood (adoption, immigration, some abuse) and unstable self identity. Do a lot of introspection but can't get clarity about certain issues (relationship with bio parents). Any tips appreciated. Good luck to you all!

Hi G, thanks for your comment. Understanding does not bring healing, although at times it may help. I highly recommend doing Ho'onoponopono, the more extended versions that erase the family pain from your consciousness. If you want help with that, you can check out our website theeagleinstitute.com/help-my-midlife-crisis/ For most people, especially with traumatic childhood events (and adoption is definitely traumatic, even if the experience in the new family is positive) some on-going inner work is required. The good news is that with dedication, you can get to a place of peace with the past, including any abuse. You can be free of this in this lifetime if you choose to do the inner work, which is self-healing and meditation, not just reflection. We teach processes that work up to 1 million times faster than just doing introspection to heal and erase the negative effects of past experiences.

Hi, great question, and something that many people ask. I know that this can be challenging for many people, not just the person experiencing the midlife crisis. Midlife crisis is a very personal process because each person is getting in touch with things about themselves that they were blind to or avoiding in the past. The process works faster when the person going through it actively participates and is open to the changes that it brings. You can never to do the inner work for the other person, but you can love them and accept them and tell them that you support the growth that they are going through. Just because she doesn’t want anything to do with you right now doesn’t mean that it will always be that way. If she does the inner work, she will come out the other side with a deeper understanding of herself, and that is a much better place to have relationships. In the meantime, develop yourself, love yourself, and know that this isn’t personal. This is a great opportunity for both of you and look for the benefits for both of you in this process.

This is happening to me at 30. God chose me to go through it early. Its scary. Really scary, well it can be…it’s hard for an average mexican american to understand whats going on becaise our family traditions don’t believe in dealing with inner problems, just keep going. But that just digs you in a deeper hole later in life….a crisis, is extremely bitter/sweet. Because you question absolutely everything about your life and what you stand for. You’re in a sense looking for something bigger than yourself. And there is…and this process is in the good book. The answer is God, but what does that mean…it means we need to read the manufacturers manual to understand why we’re going through what we’re going through…the answers are all in there and all the psychology help and therapist help is all based on understanding “life”. It’s called the Book of “life” right? Don’t give up my friends, this darkness will bring out strength and solidity of who we really are. We all have to die one day, and this points us in the direction of how are we willing to come face to face with our maker in the end. God bless everyone. Peace, blessings and strength. Keep goin, Pray pray pray for discernment, direction, and wisdom, he who ask will receive.

How long does this process actually take? What should we do to help our spouse? What should we not do? My wife of 20 years and three kids flipped the switch and is gone. I don’t know who she is. I don’t really care for who she became but I’d give anything to get her back. Thank you for any comments or suggestions in advance. Thank you.

Here is a longer video in what to do at each stage: Midlife Crisis: How to Succeed at Each Stage kzbin.info/www/bejne/aaaue59jeLOBqrs, but as for you, trust that going through midlife crisis will help them to develop their blind spot into their strength, if they choose to deal with it. People must allow themselves to get to stage 3, of nice they realize that changing things doesn’t bring satisfaction or relief.

not true. i've done plenty of self care and self love. mid life crisis is ego death / dark night of the soul and if you want to overcome it you must be disciplined in what you know your supposed to be doing rather than what you want to be doing. Its no longer about happiness and play its about doing exactly what you are meant to do here on earth. you must follow that path to have peace.

Hi W, then you are likely have a spiritual awakening, which can look very similar to a midlife crisis. This might seem weird if you have not really been interested in spirituality before. I did another video on this, you can watch it here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/ipXNk41-bdd1Y68. If this video resonates with you, I help people with spiritual awakening as well with advanced programs. I am doing a MasterClass at the end of May that you might be really interested in called Spiritual Awakening & How to Handle It MasterClass. I haven't finalized the details yet, but you can follow one of my Facebook pages to get updates when I release it for registration. Here is the link: fb.me/e/2bV9hNftR

The conclusion I'm come to with all of those questions is "why even bother anymore? none of it mattered then, why would it years from now. We all die and the legacy is ultimately meaningless, why even bother with any of it anymore good or bad.
@Theeagleinstitute3 жыл бұрын
Hi Jaret, it does matter. Your growth in this life is what matters and it is the growth that will bring you meaning. I get it, it can be hard if it seems overwhelming. There is a big difference between non-attachment to an outcome and not caring about anything. I highly recommend some loving-kindness practice for yourself because it is reliable in lifting the feelings of apathy.

I'm 25, and I've been struggling too, but I think that a midlife crisis is more specifically rooted in the sense of urgency people must feel about their own mortality as time goes on, rather than the sense of dissatisfaction on its own, ya know? I hear ya though, I had the same thoughts as I watched this video myself, but I think Itd be a waste of time for me to continue down this road, because it's a misdiagnosis, I think. Also, it's important to keep in mind that I'm a stranger with no medical degree or psychological background, so. Haha. Good luck.

Although this sounds like a crisis, it isn't a midlife crisis. I highly recommend getting Louise Hay's Book You Can Heal Your Life, or any of her teachings. It is totally possible to improve your life in ways with higher morals and feel much happier and fulfilled. Midlife crisis is facing the part of yourself that needs to grow and evolve in this life, and when people avoid it, they feel an emptiness that can't be fulfilled until they address their midlife crisis theme (everybody has a midlife crisis them), which if you are curious you can check out on one of my other videos.

So what if you know exactly what you need to do in order to "transform" yourself, but you don't have the support of your spouse? I love my husband dearly, but after 12 years together, I am ready to have a little bit of space from my in-laws (they live 10 minutes from us) and have a shorter distance between us and my own parents (who are currently 4 hours from us). I know I would be a happier/less cranky wife and mother if we relocated, but my hubby wants to stay put. I feel so lost about what to do 😞 I know what would make me happy, but is it worth it if my husband isn't as happy because of it??
