It's funny you mentioned how the girl's voice matched the guy's so much, because she's his daughter! Also, the male singer (Thomas Vikstrom) is pretty much the only male metal vocalist that I know who can also do genuinely good operatic vocals. In fact, he used to sing in the Swedish opera back in the 1990s. If you want to hear that side of him, I suggest a song by Therion called Nothing But My Name, he sounds fantastic there! On a different note, it's really great to see more people checking out Therion. :) I think they're a very underrated band, at least in the KZbin reactions community.

I had lucky enough to attend several Therion shows. Once they played an old song called Raven of dispersion with Linnea Vickström on lead vocal. You will blown your mind if you find her stage present 😂

These guys are full on Opera metal and are probably the ones who invented it. They have been doing this for over 20 years and have influenced a lot of gothic and theatrical metal bands with their sound. Their sound has changed slightly and the vocals aren't as full on straight Opera as the first few albums, believe me when I say that some songs it's extremely hard to understand what they are singing about because of the elongated wording and more vocalists on the first few albums. Great and creative band.

33 years, I spent the best concert ever (over 3 hours) at their 20 years tour! Tiny venue, amazing , and with Lori Lewis still, for an encore they played the entire Theli album

Thomas and Linnea(the girl with the pink hair) Vikström are father and daughter :D So funny you find them sound so alike. Sadly Linnea is no longer with the band, that girl had an amazing and crazy energy on stage. In this song she was in the background but if she goes...she really goes!!

Just discovered this band a few days ago. Now I am listening to all kinds of their stuff. Did not realize how long they have been around! I do wonder if they influenced Thuomas from Nightwish (my favorite band)

They are known for having many singers on stage, the first time I saw them was in a bar/concert venue. They toured with a choir even at this very modest place. Therion is quite a big deal to unpack, they had loads of cast changes. The male vocal Thomas Vikström is also a professional opera singer like his father (Sven-Erik) was, and apart from operas, sings also in a lot of musicals (actually more in musicals). Great reaction! I think the sound mix of this live recording is giving a litle low volume of all the the singers voices except for the female soprano. Thomas Vikström is a great singer with a vide range. His daughter (with pink hair) is a good singer with clear voice. At later time also the bass player use to fill up with backing vocals. I don't remember the name of the female soprano, but she's great to. This song was originally recorded with the singer Mats Levén and was using his special voice in a strong way.

Take a listen to Land of Canaan (studio version) if you want to hear wide range of Therion vocalists. Including the crazy Snowy Shaw. Then you will also hear Linnea (the girl you couldn't hear in this clip) sing solo at the end of the song as well. She was only a teenager at the time of that recording though.
