Dr Doom is in my opinion the greatest Marvelvillain ever ! He can rule the world and no government or country can stop him and he has diplomatic immunity . Stan Lee had a great point there and Stan said once that Dr Doom is his favorite villain he has created :)

Slight contrary… Diplomatic immunity is something granted by each participating nation depending on their treaties with each other. Latveria, being a truly sovereign government with no ties or interference from outside nations (Go Doom!) would probably have no agreement with any other nation due to the fact that they would ask for none as they would give none. (Could you imagine the laughing fit the good Doctor would have if Reed Richard’s got caught and tried claiming diplomatic immunity? 🤣) Still… that makes Doom even more perfect of a global menace. Long Live Dooooooom!!

Most people consider Magneto to be Marvel's greatest villain, but Stan never thought of him as a bad guy. Doctor Doom on the other hand is pretty much the template of what all comic book villains are based on (the same way all heroes are loosely based on Superman), basically the way Lee says it; he's just walking up to police officers shouting 'I WANT TO RULE THE WORLD!!', he seems like a fun guy to have a drink with really.

@Kevin Byrnes Nah, I'd say his biggest flex would have to be when he got to say this to Reed: "Enjoy your family, Richards. And remember every time you look on them, that Doom saved them both. When once before, you could not." And Doom got to say that line because he saved Sue's life while she was pregnant with a baby girl. And all Doom wanted in return for saving Sue & her unborn baby? The right to name the child (which essentially meant that he made himself their baby's Godfather, so that if anything ever happened to Reed & Sue, Doom would become the girl's legal guardian), and the name that he chose for her was Valeria. And Doom is extremely protective and doting towards her (and Valeria reciprocates and is likewise very fond of her "uncle" Doom), to the point that threatening or endangering her is a guaranteed way to get Doom *royally pissed off* at you. Do anything to hurt or endanger Valeria, and Doom will literally hunt you to the ends of the Earth and beyond to make you answer for it.

Doctor Doom is not a villain. He's not cruel for the sake of cruelty, he does what he needs to do and does it effectively. And not to mention his rule of Latveria is proof enough that he could make the world a better place if given the time.

No other marvel villain can compete with Dr Doom. This guy has managed to out smart the best of them, has a will that puts Galactus and Purple Man's powers to shame, and can make some of the most powerful heroes like hulk, Thor, and silver surfer, grovel on the floor. Who does that?

It freaking boggles my mind of how I have never read a comic involving DOCTER DOOM in my life despite Infinity Gauntlet, There have only been two versions which I've liked yet I still find a few flaws, all of his film interpretations are total crap and yet he is without a doubt one my favourites and is one of, if the best comic villains of all time. I love the Joker but DOCTER DOOM honestly comes off as a better bad guy if you understand what I mean, because with DOCTER DOOM you love how pure freaking evil he looks, how imposing he is, his intellect, the power he possess's, how grandiloquent he is, how he isn't just some nut job wanting to rule the world just "because", he has good reasoning behind what he is trying to accomplish and ,as Stan Lee said, he still can't get arrested. That to me is what makes him one of, if not the greatest comic villains of all time. The one. The only..... DOCTER DOOM!!!

That version was pretty decent but I think the best version was in Avengers Earths Mightiest Hero's. He took down the Avengers and Fantasic 4 at the same and he one shot beat the Hulk. If you haven't seen this version then go check any scene he is in, you'll love how he is portrayed

He is opposed to all the "heroes" of his world which makes him oppositional according to all those "heroes". His very existence questions their validity as heroes at all, treating (most of) them as an afterthought and treating (most of) the regular people of the world as the priority. That's what makes him different from most of comiclanding. It's the dichotomy as a foil to the standard way of events.

Treating the "special people" as equally unimportant (with the exception of richards in most storylines) is what sets him apart seeming egomaniacal. If a god or whatever else, he just treats them as another person-regular to serve his ultimate will and intentions. There's something admirable to that, perhaps amplified by all the gall received in response to that.
