My ex and I never fought like that but one time we were wrestling around and I was so amazed at how strong she was and I started laughing as we rolled around on the bed fully clothed.... Big mistake..... that's when I learned that the wrestling match was WAY more serious to her then it was to me..... As she got madder and somehow stronger.... I asked her why she was so upset She said "you're laughing at me" of course I giggled gleefully first, couldn't help it because I wasn't mad about anything and tried to explain That I was laughing at myself because she was so strong I actually thought she could whip my ass...... Of course that gave her new found energy and encouragement 🤣 I learned from rock climbing that technique trump's strength and that was my savior. So I told her as much and that I encourage her to be physically strong AND "learned" in all aspects of life I think she would recall the story differently but I never laid a finger on her in over 13 years Even through cheating, separation and eventually divorce..... Broke my heart for real When you are forced to let go.... you can't keep trying to go back.... That doesn't mean you can't love them in absence.... Yeah I know, get a therapist.
