I agree also. I switched to Single Length and it took me a few months to really start understanding how to play them. Mine are 8iron length and I’m now hitting my 5iron 210yards when that used to be a hybrid or even a wood. These irons have changed my game dramatically. 1 simple swing 4-GW makes the game so much more enjoyable.

I bought myself the cobra Radspeed single length 5 hybrid! Best decision I've ever made! I'm saving up to buy the 3 hybrid Radspeed single length as well. I don't play single length irons simply because my custom clubs is a half inch shorter than normal and I don't bag 5 iron and lower. My 6 iron is 37" so it's short and it makes the game easier for myself. I love your video and you are 100% correct, those guys don't give them a true test to see the benefit it can bring to new or even struggling golfers! Let's face it golf is hard, so why does anyone want to play a 38" 5 iron but they hit their 8 iron longer than the 5! Like you said golf smarter not harder! I love the one length hybrid and it helped my game significantly! Can't wait to purchase the 3 hybrid! My handicap will come down soon! Let's hope the youtube coaches take up the challenge!

I've been back and forth with them. Played one length sterlings for 5 years My main concern is there aren't many options of one length. Not many better player iron designs for one length. My best score with 1 length was 63. Last year played traditional irons and shot the course record with a 62 twice. With conventional length irons I felt like my best days were slightly better than my best days with one length. On the flip side my off days weren't nearly as off with single length. Just can't decide what to do.

I think you have extremely valid points, and I agree with just about everything you say. At your skill level, playing both so well, the misses are lessened with SL. Hi. At last! I found a single-length KZbinr that I can relate to. Just ordered a set of SL Cobra F8 irons. I recently took up golf again after 15 years out, I'm 55. At best I was off 15 back then. The only irons I had in my bag bag then was 6 to PW. The 6 I avoided. I then had 9W, 7W, 5W, driver. Imagine my gapping. 😂 Since moving to Finland, I have started again. I couldn't hit a ball. Started off on 54 back in May and ended early October on 29. My bag has formed into a similar set up that I used to play. For years before, I was constantly asking golfing friends 'why the hell aren't irons all the same length?' I always got laughed at. Jump forward and I'm back into golf. Then I heard about SL! I scoured YT for some of the guys you mention here to do a fair video on single length...all I could find was negative end results or final opinions. This video plus your other one where you blindly chose an iron at a time and hit 10 or 15 from the same position, stance, swing, is the first thing I am going to do. I have NO DOUBT in my mind I will FINALLY have an iron game! Thank you! 👍

Thank you for the support, and I’m happy you’ve found my videos helpful. One of the hardest things is going against the norm and ignoring the ones that say it’s a bad idea. I fell in love with single length irons because I liked the concept and bought a set without even trying them out. After I bought my one lengths I got fitted and they got lengthened to a 5 iron length. This really helped my game. But as I keep playing I am aware of the fact that the people around me do not share in my enthusiasm about them. That being said, I’m also more consistent then anyone I’ve played with and usually shoot at least three strokes better. I like playing an unorthodox way of golf. I don’t think I’ll ever go back.

I made the switch to one length about a year ago and wouldn’t go back. I’m a high handicapper and they simplify the game for me so much and really help me stay competitive. Don’t think the major manufacturers are really interested in one length. Selling clubs isn’t about making people better, it’s about selling the next “guaranteed to improve your game” club every year, year on year. One length makes golf easier so reduces the market. I wonder if there was a low budget set of one length clubs marketed for high handicappers? Surely there would be a lot of money transitioning those players onto a better quality set of one lengths?
@SimplifyYourSwing3 жыл бұрын
I feel you on the other manufacturers wanting to sell the next thing, but not sure it can’t be done with one lengths. Cobra releases a new set every year, so the others could follow that model. There’s a few budget sets out there, the problem is they don’t have the marketing capital to reach the masses. I’d say Taylormade did it, then I think it would blow up

What is the lie angles for your single length irons? I changed my swing from conventional to the single plane but found the lie angle is too small to set the club , feel always toe up in set up? Where can I buy the irons as Bryson's with 73 degrees lie angles. Thanks a lot.
@SimplifyYourSwing3 жыл бұрын
I’m at a 62.5 lie angle. My single plane isn’t as upright as Bryson’s and more flat, so the lie works for me. But if you’re upright like he is with your swing those are going to be custom lie angles. That’s going to be a custom order through Cobra or another manufacturer like Edel. And I’ll be honest, I don’t know how far they will take them. Not sure they will go that extreme. For him they would. But it wouldn’t hurt to reach out and see what they can do.

I saw his most recent where he spent 1 day on them. I know Alex Elliott uses them, but he stays away from the reviews for the most part. So why bother reviewing and turning people away? Mike Schy just messaged me about this video commending me for the video. It’s sad that Cobra keeps giving these guys a chance to turn people away.
@SP_999993 жыл бұрын
It is a small market compared to the rest and golf industry is quite a traditionalist world. To be honest if you look at review by txg they were quite unhappy with cobra but review of Sterling (unfortunately not anymore in prod) the review was very good. I switched to traditional to one length from cobra, point is that except for cobra it become very difficult to get fitting for one length and it is a risk to just buy a set of iron out of a web shop. Selecting shaft, lie etc if you’re not already very in clear of what you need it is a pain… and not even sure one length company are sending iron to be reviewed so much a part cobra…

Do u have to have a single plane swing to successfully use single length irons
@SimplifyYourSwing3 жыл бұрын
No. Any swing will work. I choose to use a modified single plane to eliminate more variables. But there are plenty of followers and even some of my students that use a traditional swing. The key is to have the same ball position, same swing and same swing tempo with every shot.
@duffypratt3 жыл бұрын
I agree that the reviews are shallow. But I don’t think that means that the exposure on those channels is necessarily bad. All publicity is good publicity. Keep in mind that those channels will always give mediocre to poor reviews of game improvement or super game improvement irons. They also are not for them. In fairnessTXG and Crossfield have both been balanced to favorable about one length. I got my Wishon clubs about a month and a half ago. I’ve seen my iron play improve a lot since then, so I’m totally sold on the idea. Greens in regulation has gone from about 4-5 to about 8-9. But if I had not been a beginner, and had learned on variable length irons, I could see the problem switching. Finally, having started with single length, I see even more problems switching back. There would be so much to learn/adjust.
@SimplifyYourSwing3 жыл бұрын
I think you’re spot on in your breakdown. The good reviews from Crossfield and TXG are favorable. I think there are a lot of people that are influenced by many. But I think at the end of the day, many look at multiple reviews and there’s a few big influences saying they wouldn’t put them in the bag it can drive people away. I’d rather someone take the time to see the real benefits. Just my opinion and may not be favorable, but it’s been bugging me.
