KZbin channel by the name of "Cornelius Link" released a bardcore cover video. A few weeks later he released the bardcore version of "Pumped Up Kicks", another popular meme culture song. After the release of Pumped Up Kicks, that's when the re-awakening of bardcore took place and became the new but enjoyable trend we are now experiencing.
