tip for vegan curries: Silk coconut creamer! I only cook for one person and rarely ever need to open an entire can of coconut milk, even the small ones, so the creamer is a great option for something that lasts a while in the fridge and you can use just a little of.

Okay, but avantgardevegan's lasagne rocks and I have no clue how you could mess up something so tasty by using a milk that is slighly too sweet. It's honestly the best vegan lasagne I have ever made, and I don't know how I was a vegan making lasagnes without that recipe.

@@julieannelovesbooks that's awesome! what do you like to use for the "mince"? I usually do 450g of minced mushrooms coupled with a brick of beyond meat, I wasn't sure if there were other good options though that were maybe a bit less expensive
@julieannelovesbooks3 жыл бұрын
@@zepzour7391 Well, it all depends on the country you live in and the brands you have access too. Where I live (The netherlands), we have a brand called the vegetarian butcher, and they sell a type of mince meat that is basically already prepared. So the beyond meat brick but then already crumbled and precooked if that makes sense? It worked perfect in the recipe and it's also a ton cheepre than using beyond meat or any of those more fancy meat replacements.

Try a carminitive herb or food that stimulates digestion to see if that helps with the burping. This is typically something bitter or sour- try arugula, fennel seeds, ginger, dill. Many cultures use things like this to help with digestion and take before or during the meal-- it's why sausages typically contain fennel or anise.

I've been a vegan for more than half of a year by now and I'm currently being treated at a hospital for my anorexic (which has nothing to do with me becoming vegan, I did it for ethical reasons not for weight loss). the doctors told me I'm not allowed me to recover on a vegan diet and forced me to at least eat a pescatarian diet. I really want to get better and help my body, but I feel guilty about the animals. Does that make me a bad person, or is it understandable :(

hmmmm. . . i burped for years, so so annoying. I eventually began coughing too. ** IMPORTANT: Even though you are vegan I think a food/ingredient/allergy is causing this. I would try eliminating a food ingredient to identify the source of your burping. . Reason: Eventually coughing will develop along with the burping as food allergy / sensitivity progresses. I Became vegan bc I'm allergic to dairy, eggs, cheese & I love tofu, tempeh anyway. I indtantly stopped burping & coughing & vomiting because eventually vomiting will occur as the allergy / sensitivity progresses. . it was years of burping before coughing symptoms started then came the vomiting which actually helped me identify the problem easily but taking care of this years ago would have been best.

A bit off topic from the video but I'm curious since you're vegan for an ethical reason. Do you think it's better to support small local farms by buying their products to support non factory farming as a baby step or to not support any animal farmers .
@Adnilas3 жыл бұрын
She’s talked about this before. If her views are still the same, she believes that although the animals probably live better lives than factory farmed animals, and it is better to support these farms than factory farms, there are still industry standard practices at play that are inherently cruel, so she wouldn’t support buying from any animal farms. Also she has talked about how she believes that any time you turn an animal into a commodity (by making money off of it) the temptation to cut corners at the animals’s expense is too great.
@julieannelovesbooks3 жыл бұрын
In terms of greenhouse gasses and just the environmental factor buying from local farms is actually worse. I believe she's talked about this in a video reacting to someone no longer being vegan. If you are solely looking at it from an ethical standpoint I think buying from a local farm is definitly better, as long as you also cut down on your meat consumption. The animals are going to have a much better life but it will still come to a cruel end, so when you cut down on your meat consumption less animals will have to go through that process to feed you. I definitly think it is a viable option, it's definitly a step in the right direction. So in general, I would say don't support animal farmers where possible. But I do recognize that there can definitly be a transition phase, so buying from local farmers is definitly a more ethical thing to do.
