The time has finally come to start the 4l80e conversion on our budget turbo sleeper build "uncle rob" 2003 GMC Yukon XL! The stock 4l60 transmission melted rather quickly when faced with boost from our 72mm forced performance turbocharger.
Now we get to document the ENTIRE conversion for science and entertainment at the same time!!
Stay tuned for part 2 where we install the HD2 shift kit for the new transmission and prepare the 261hd transfer case!

QUESTION...help me out: Would you guys rather have two 25 minute videos on an (almost) daily basis...or one 50 minute video every other day or so? When it comes to build content it takes a lot of work time and lot of edit time to make a 50 minute video that doesn’t suck... I really would value your input because I’m not sure what to do! New merch link! (Every order gets a hand written note from Logan and myself) Stapletonautoworks.com

Yeah, definitely accept ANYTHING given to you. My philosophy is, if someone offers me a monetary tip for the work I do, I give them ONE chance to change their mind, I say “are you sure, you don’t have to do that, the price is This amount. You don’t have to.” Reply is “Oh no no, I insist.” I say “ok, thank you very much, that’s very kind.” Yoink! Free tastes better man. I always make them put the money in my hand, I never take it out of their hand.

Never turn down a blessing. One of the hardest parts of being someone who likes to give, which you clearly are, is being able to receive. You do so well at giving back to people through teaching and showing them process and demonstration. Brian is right, let others help you when offered. Thanks for all you're doing.

That is cool that you are letting your fans help build Uncle Rob. That is true about what you were told. It also feels amazing to be able to help people no matter if they need it or not. If it bothers you that much, just pay it forward. Like leaving the oil and dirt on the needle bearings, and putting it on the shirt. It kind of makes it feel like they did some work on Uncle Rob too.

The frickin dog lead got up it’s crack! Hilarious! Forget the driveshaft. Love it how you give an explanation of shorting out the battery and Logan says ‘cool’ Nick from the U.K. 2 x short videos preferred Good to accept free stuff cos people genuinely want to assist. Have a good weekend

Alta Loma, CA about 20 min from Irwindale, Pomona and Fontana dragstrips. 25 min every day would be friggin amazing.

I'm lead tech at a shop in Cleveland, so I see a lot of that rotted stuff. Been at it for 12 years professionally. Oxy acetylene torch is your best friend, I promise... If you can fix the rustiest of rusty then everything else is so friggin easy. When I went to Florida and was helping people at a shop remove a press in hub bearing with a torch and air hammer, they were blown away that you dont need a hydraulic press for removal.

I'm in the New England area and I work on rust like this often. Tip for you... toss your rusted nut / bolt in some brake fluid. It'll get rid of the surface rust and bring it sort back to "new" condition.

From Ontario Canada. I work at a GM dealer. All the stuff is nice and full of the rusticles LMAO. Love the videos keep em coming man. Also the skid plate I'm almost certain is also a Z71 thing on older GMCs. Also the reverse direction of the bolts is just a thing. I always wondered why it was like that as well. First time I see that double nut bracket too but I don't work on as many suburban/Tahoe's. Mostly just pickup trucks
