@BravoDox

It's funny because apparently when the series started, Patrick Stewart was annoyed by how the rest of the cast would goof off and joke around in between takes, and sometimes even goof around DURING takes. At first, he had only intended on doing the show for a season or two, because he had assumed it would be a flop. He was a serious Shakespearean ACT-OR, and this was a silly sci-fi show "for children", he thought. He just wanted to do the work efficiently, quickly and competently, make some Hollywood money, and go home to England and get back to "real acting". The rest of the cast could tell he thought they weren't very professional, and although they still goofed around and enjoyed themselves, they do say that his sense of professionalism inspired them to bring their A-game, acting-wise. But the show didn't flop. It kept going. And the longer he stayed in the role, the more he started to enjoy himself. He was getting properly dramatic and comedic scenes he could really dig his teeth into! He was acting as a hard-boiled detective, and as Robin Hood, and matching wits against Professor Moriarty! He was re-enacting Room 101 from 1984! He was delivering passionate speeches about the nature of sentience, and the rule of law! He was the elder statesman! He was the romantic lead! The show was giving him everything an actor could ask for! And so after a season or two, he started goofing around with the rest of the cast. And he says that he regrets that he didn't let his hair down (so to speak) and embrace the fun side of the job earlier.

I think Cassie missed ALL the Tomalak episodes. If I remember correctly Andreas's role was basically recurring during Season 3 and 4. Patreon did do her a service by limiting the Romulan episodes to The Neutral Zone, the Sela episodes and Data's Day. Didn't even watched Balance of Terror on the TOS episodes. I don't know if it good or bad to have so little Romulan intrigue on the pallete before diving into Nemesis, especially after missing out on several of the 'thawing' Romulan episodes of Season 6.

@@flippinLOFI I understand exactly what you mean! With DS9, things changed. TOS and TNG had always been explorers, but things changed dramatically! I was always reminded of the professor who tried to persuade Picard to go on an archaeological expedition with him. That was the part where we learned why there are so many humanoid races in the Milky Way and that they are all related to each other. The professor said: "You seem like a Roman centurion patrolling the borders of his bloated empire..." That's exactly what happened in DS9 with Sisco...

Wasn't popular enough in my area for a daytime slot. I had to turn the volume down almost all the way to keep from getting caught and shoved a towel under my door to block the light from the TV. The credits rolled on the last episode and I just started bawling. I think I was about 14. I needed that show and I had four more years to get through that part of my life without it. TNG will always hold a special place in my heart. Picard is great too. ❤️
