But what's funny is that the 2nd and 3rd place winners ended up having bigger roles in season 2 (the two Jedi that were protecting Palpatine from Grievous) since the team decided to use those designs.

Yeah, Lucas already made Vader, the unstoppable beast, Maul the intimidating assasin, and dooku the charismatic Sith Lord. He wanted Grevious to be different from all those badass villains. A "slimy" villain. So TCW's Grevious was much more in line with his plans. That said, the original EU (now legends) did what it did best and balanced fan service with George's plans and made grevious start as an unstoppable monster and then crippled him shortly before ROTS.

You can definitely tell in this show that these were soldiers trained from birth. While the 2008 cartoon fleshed out the clones and gave them character I don't like how they die so easily when they're supposed to be the best soldiers in the galaxy.

And even if only one droid in ten actually hits anything, they have billions of them. Eventually, you're gonna get chewed up. And if you take out an entire army of droids, it's no big deal, because they'll have a replacement by tomorrow. Clones take a decade to grow and train.

Prior to the announcement that The Clone Wars was coming back for a 7th & final season, my husband had never seen any episodes of TCW. We watched all of Rebels & he loved that show, so I told him w/TCW coming back, we had to sit down & watch the show. We've been watching them in chronological order per the SW website. When a character dies in the series & you've watched the series in chronological order, it makes such a difference. It impacts you so much more. I suggest anyone that's never watched TCW to watch them in chronological order, not the order in which they were released.

Smaug Král draků Agreed. This Grievous was cool, but had 3 huge problems. 1. His design was pretty bad. Aside from the eyes, you can’t tell he’s supposed to be a cyborg at all. He just looks like a robot. 2. His voice. HIS VOICE IS JUST TERRIBLE. Both voice actors he had in this show were just awful. Always leave it to Matthew Wood. 3. This version of Grievous is so bland. He has basically zero personality, not much screentime, and he hardly ever speaks (which is a good thing considering his awful voice) So is he really the best Grievous when he’s so bland and his voice is so bad? Yeah, he has a higher kill count, but he’s not really a better character.

All I've seen of Star wars were clips and videos about it, never the full movies or series, but even I can see that Grievious is much more of a threat here in the old version of clone wars, compared to the movies(I may be wrong), and the new clone wars(I'm sure). His personality is also inspired by his namesake: When with his master, Daakman Barrek, Sha'a Gi was able to maintain his composure, but when the two were separated, he tended to become more nervous and on edge, and completely lost his composure after Barrek's death. But when hopelessly scared out of his wits and convinced that he is about to die, did Sha' Gi run and hide? No! He charged out with a desperate battle cry, lightsaber drawn. Naturally, since this is Grievous, he is quite literally crushed, but it's the thought that counts.

The reason why most Jedi don't use the force more often in combat is that to use the light side requires calm and focus and Grevious uses surprise and fear to keep Jedi off balance to prevent them from using the force

1. He's mostly machine so he's difficult to sense. 2. Grievous uses fear, surprise, and intimidation to break the Jedi's concentration. 3. Most Jedi are not equipped to deal with Grievous. Also you fail you notice that this was Grievous' debut. Of course the Jedi would be confused.

The thing is, Grievous was one of the best duelists of the time, even without the Force. The reason Obi Wan beat him so quickly is because Soresu is a very defensive style, and he's the absolute master of it. He kept himself very guarded and nipped at Grievous every time he left an opening.

Anthony Rodriguez That’s why canon Grievous is so much better. He’s a separate, distinct character, and not just a bland Vader clone. Plus Canon Grievous has the way cooler voice.
