Sir, this is nothing less than your usual and that means - a state of the art walkthrough for extraordinary work! I love the finish you manage to get with your Scalecolor paints! When I use mine (especially blues and greens) I often end up with a white residue finish problem after they're dry on my models. I mix them really well using a tattoo ink shaker and glass beads inside and I checked some different bottles of the same colour but I still get that problem. Did you have the same problem in the past? If so, do you have a solution? Take care and keep your awesome, Sorastro, notifications about your new videos always bring a smile to my face, even if they end up on my "watch in the background while painting" playlist :D I'm at the KD Phoenix video and I must say, the mix of that model's look and your incredible music gives my painting sessions an eerie, creepy atmosphere, I love it!
@Sorastro4 жыл бұрын
Thanks a lot Paplokh! I confess I've never had that problem to be honest. I wander if it's something to do with the water you thin the paints with? It's the only thing I can think of. Perhaps you could try thinning with distilled water or something..? :)
@Paplok4 жыл бұрын
@@Sorastro It's a possibility, although if that's the case then I'm very unlucky :D I've recently moved to a different country and the problem remains. No matter how slim the chance of success is I'll check how the paint behaves when diluted with distilled water, thank you very much for the advice! Forgive my cheeky question but looking at my shelf a thought popped into my mind - do you plan to do any painting tutorials on Dark Souls the Board Game stuff? The models are'nt that spectacular (especially next to in example KD) but the franchise is very popular and the sizes are varied - from small player characters all the way to huge mega-bosses!

@Sorastro Жыл бұрын
Thanks a lot! Hmm, it's a very personal choice really.. I actually wasn't too keen on the Scalecolor paints when I first tried them, but once I got used to them, I kind of fell in love! I might suggest just buying a couple of individual colours to begin with and see how you get on (and I find adding a little flow enhancer to my water when thinning helps make them easier to work with) 😀
@kevmott1 Жыл бұрын
@Sorastro's Painting Thanks for that. When you say flow enhancer are you talking about vallejo glaze medium or GW lahmian medium or something different.
@Sorastro Жыл бұрын
No problem! Flow enhancer is something different. You'll find it in art shops etc. It alters the viscosity of the paint; I just add a little to the water that I use to thin the paint with (I use the Daler Rowney stuff, but most paint brands make one - Liquitex, Windsor & Newton etc). 🙂

hi Soroastro, lovely, lovely video I really enjoyed it. The production is great, focus and magnification are spot-on and not too lengthy, there's enough detail to get what's happening but not too much where it gets boring. to watch. I have a question for you. I love when you do the zenithal highlight, the miniatures look so dramatic, however, I feel that as soon as you start laying the base colors, the effect is lost entirely. So I was wondering what is the point of doing it. It would make more sense to me if you were just doing glazes or shades that allow the highlight to be seen underneath. cheers!

Hi Jordan! It might not show every product I'm now using, but this video shows some of the foliage at least: kzbin.info/www/bejne/q6rKep-af8h3i9U :)

This is another amazing video. However shouldn't the bushes be burnt on the bases with the flying figures? :)

Hi Sorastro, I'm a big fan of your work, congrants!! Just a question, Oleo's painting can be used to paint miniatures?
@Sorastro3 жыл бұрын
Thank you Cristofer! I don't know what "Oleo's" is..? :)

I really enjoy watching your videos but I have to always remind myself before pressing the play button not to expect these results myself because I am NOT in your league skill wise but that THAT'S ok, I can still enjoy them without getting all depressed lol.

Thanks, and totally! Heck, when I'm painting just for myself I don't always paint to quite such a high standard. When I'm shooting a video in 4K however I try to show a good range of what's possible with the minis is all; it's just about sharing ideas and letting people run with it :)

I’m having a problem with the yellow. Mine is either way to bright. Or it hints to a green hue.

Hi Scott! Are you using the same Scalecolor paints that I'm using here..? :)
