For me I love the sound of it and looks of it. What I love most of all is like Rogue One is how the timeline will take place in the original trilogy so I'm about it, but Kristian you raised a important question about the game which is the gameplay! From what I've saw so far I'm onboard for the game and can't help, but get excited from what I've saw!

Looks fantastic to me. When it comes to video games I don’t need a story to be a total game changer. I just need it to be exciting and interesting. Even it feels similar. I can’t wait for it.

Not bad! So far, here are my recent Star Wars trailer rankings: Tales of the Empire > Star Wars Outlaws > The Acolyte. It's a great idea to explore the Underworld, which is what we thought we were getting with The Book of Boba Fett but didn't. But this will make a for a great game. It's too bad that they couldn't have done this in a series, like how the novel Chapterhouse: Dune focused on the extermination of the Bene Gesserit. Oh well.

I'm not into most game's stories quite honestly and Ubisoft isn't much different. I know a lot of people do get invested. I may pay closer attention since it's Star Wars. I think the gameplay will be great.

I'm all in on this game, although less for the story and more because of who made it (Massive). Although I expect I'll enjoy the story (I'm expecting 6-7/10) I think the worlds and the gameplay and the exploration will make up for it.

Was a bit concerned when it said you get a season pass with the deluxe edition but then I found out that that season pass consists of a cosmetic pack and a dlc story pack that involves jabba. Sounds worth it for what will likely be an extra $10

At this point I'm done complaining...I'm down for a planet to planet open worldish sw game for sure though...it's a Ubisoft game though and they have a lot to prove since their last few games have been underwhelming so be aware...🤷

I agree. Looks okay so far but leaves much to be desired. My issue is the timeline because it limits the storytelling. This exact story could be told in the Old Republic and leave more room to play in instead of "oh look its Jabba" or "Oh look it's Han in carbonite" type of Easter eggs that at this point are annoyingly repetitive. And that was the best part about the EU and still is the best part of the EU was there were/are stories that span the Old Republic, Clone Wars, OT and far beyond the Original Trilogy like Legacy of the Force etc. Personally I'd like to see some customization options announced closer to release like alien skins, armor maybe otherwise don't call it an RPG. And it's Ubisoft so I'm expecting some chests with gear sprinkled in each map so I'm looking forward to that feature being accessible. Other than that the main protagonist looks very plain, hence why customization is I think crucial.

It’s a Ubisoft game, so expectations need to be in check. This won’t be anything more than your typical AAA open world game with a fine enough story and good enough gameplay.

I understand the criticism towards Ubisoft with the micro transactions, but I haven’t really understood peoples problems with how dense the games are. I like a game that you can’t beat in 3 days. I had a blast playing AC Odyssey for 2 weeks and the game was gorgeous, fun, and by the time I finished it I debated getting the DLC to play more(ended up doing that much later). If it’s even half as fun as that game I’m gonna have a good time.

Agree with what others said. The main character looks like a soccer mom. Could they try to make her look like a scoundrel or someone that looks like they deal directly with the underworld instead of their accountant or masseuse. Or is their plan to monetize a “scoundrel armor set” for players to purchase.

It's a hard sell to convince me that this main character who looks like she's rolling up in a minivan to pick the kids up from soccer practice is caught up in all this deep criminal activity. Maybe they pull it off, but idk it just feels off...

I would put money on Outlaws bridging the narrative gap between Solo and the OT. Between Jabba, Hans carbonite statue, and seeing Crimson Dawn I think Kay Vess is going to cross paths with everyone that fits the era. If you preorder this game….you are a fool. Just wait for it to come out, Look for reviews after the game is released and do not rely on “early access reviews” Then make up your own mind. There has been so many shady practices or outright fraud committed by AAA studios lately it’s not worth trusting them. Remember when you are paying for early or day one access for a game….you are paying the most money for the worst version of the game! If it’s really a good game…it will still be there the next day!

You're right Kristian, at the end of this day this is a video game and I think this story for as generic as it looks would fit better in a video game then it would a tv show or movie. The gameplay is what could excel it upwards. I am more interested in any new worlds, exploring the underworld and then how this all impacts you when you factor in that the Empire is still in control of the galaxy during this time. Since it's a heist story too, the characters are vital to care about because that makes a heist adventure more fun and interesting to keep you going.

Not feeling the lead character at all. Should have had the option to play as male/female/alien. Lucasfilm don’t want strong, male leads in a dark story. They can’t write them. This girl could be Jyn Erso. That would probably be better if she was still alive. Considering Sweet baby Inc are involved, this will not have the grimy, underworld tone we are lead to believe. Visually looks fantastic, hopefully the gameplay is as good. I will wait for the official reviews…not anything from IGN though.

Star Wars has been an essential part of my life before Disney. The stuff now mostly just makes me cringe and embarrassed. That said I've been reading some more old EU books and it's great! I'd rather forget about Disney star wars completely and focus on those, old games and the Original saga.

Narratively, if the character at the center of a game called 'Outlaws' simply wants to 'Live free', they're not an 'Outlaw'. For a 'Story trailer', there's no indication that the protagonist has any internal shortcomings that she needs to overcome in order to reach her goal (i.e. 'Live free'). EXAMPLE: A trigger-happy outlaw's next big score forces her to save the man who cheated on her, left her for dead, and has been raising their son in a rival syndicate. The fact that a hero/heroine doesn't have it all together and needs to learn something in order to move forward in life is what makes them relatable to us as the viewer/player who need to do the same.

I miss the old Star Wars games.... I love Jedi Fallen Order, but the sequel was so buggy everywhere I skipped it. I know Games take longer to make but PLAN IT OUT BETTER! You HAD AMY HENNIG MAKING A.... so pissed about that cancellation. Edit; to Elaborate EA Cancelled a Amy Hennig Directed Star Wars game in the vein of Uncharted. They closed the studio for whatever reason even though it was a good studio. So wasn't Lucasfilm cancellation but they didn't force EA to finish it before closing the studio.
