Loving this show. After The Acolyte this is very refreshing

The “What What?!” From Kim gave me vibes from Archimedes in Sword in the Stone.

Have you checked out him and his co-host Steve Morris who do deep dives into classic cinema (they identify them as movie classics older than 10(?) years old, I think, I forget now). Some great conversation going on over there if you like long form discussion on films.

I know Laura mentioned on the Jedi Way that the shot of Jod and the kids walking against the backdrop of the enormous moon on Kh'ymm's asteroid(?) felt very Volume-ish, but it is one of my favorite shots of the episode.

Honestly so sick of people criticizing the Volume even when it is used well. What do people expect them to do for shots that are on a moon in outer space!? You can either use green/blue screen or the volume and I prefer the volume every time.

Good writing is the best gimmick. So far so good...

I think Jack was a Padawan, sepperated from his master and the Jedi by Order 66, - lost and allone (may be not much older than the kids are now, Order 66 was around 35 years earlier) . So he had to hide and survive on his own. If you want to hide from the Empire, becoming a pirate is not a bad choice, they hide from them by default. I love this series, SM33 is for me one of my top 3 droids, so far.

I love that the show drops in little bits to shut us up fans who are notorious for making jabs like you/Rocha (and me at home) did with the whole, "if he's a Jedi, why didn't he free himself sooner" or pointing out how there are ways to fake being a Jedi or how Fern noting how 'easy' it was to get out of the port. It's just enough to brush us back while making the show feel clever and/or smart.

Really enjoying this show, much more than I thought I would, and having fun discovering more about this entertaining and resourceful crew, the mystery that surrounds their world, and how many aliases Jod has in total! I like the way the kids' talents and personalities make sense, given what we've seen of their families and education, and that they've been written as resourceful, smart and humorous characters that actually balance out pretty well as a team/crew (instead of being insufferable like so many kid roles can be)! Love the score, the variety of aliens and transports on display, the pacing of this adventure, and how SM33 is a scene-stealer of a droid! Hope it's this good till the end! Enjoyed your reactions, as always, John!

I’m all in, best thing since the 4th Star Wars movie when they dropped the fun. Great Star Wars is both good plot and characters wrapped in fun that has been largely missing since the pod race….

If Jod is someone that has Force powers or is Force sensitive and not a fraud, instead of him being yet another padawan or Jedi that escaped Order 66, I think it'd be more interesting if he was just a Force sensitive kid who the Jedi turned down as being too old or too weak in the Force and had to fend for himself after they rejected him. It would allow him to have the most rudimentary and weak Force abilities, but also not fall back on yet another Jedi/padawan that survived the purge which is starting to become a trope.
