There should be a scene in The Last Jedi where Luke and Rey are training and she goes "so aren't you going to take my midichlorian count?" and then Luke is like "pshh, midichlorians are a myth, who told you about that??" that would totally be an awesome scene...
@kailomonkey
@kailomonkey 7 жыл бұрын
That would be a great reflection of our grasp of science in reality, how it is only our best model until it's replaced by the new best model. They could twist it around that medichlorians actually indicate something completely different and the spectrum of force sensitivity is completely upside-down and ability was purely down to confidence, focus and faith in oneself by all the encouragement given through the medichlorian science.

Unkar is a word! It's even a place, and a physical object. It's mostly known as a tributary of the Colorado River in Grand canyon, Arizona. This side canyon creates a significant rapid as the creek has washed boulders and gravel into the main channel of the Colorado River. It also refers to layers of rock found there, which make up the lower layers of the grand canyon supergroup and are a key element of the great unconformity.

Darth Jar Jar Theory that will work: Snoke is a being that inhabits the bodies of other beings. He has existed for thousands of years by possessing other beings and furthering his goal of destroying the light side. He used Jar Jar to manipulate Palpatine after Palpatine "killed" his master, Plagus, who was really Snoke. Snoke himself is simply another being that this entity has possessed. Once Jar Jar being useless to the entity, he imply left him and either possessed Snoke or a different being. Jar Jar was left confused and alone. That's why he's depressed in the comic. He doesn't fully understand what happened. Just that he was the cause of the fall of the Republic.

I like the "Padme secretly has multiple husbands" theory. Everyone in Revenge of the Sith is married to Padme. That's what all the lightsaber fights are about. Yoda vs. Palpatine. Windu vs. Palpatine. Kenobi vs. Grievous. Kenobi vs. Anakin. The entire clone army vs. Kenobi. Anakin and the clones murder all the younglings because they know Padme likes them young. There was a scene where Darth Jar-Jar fought Kenobi, but they cut it out.

Watch her videos? I usually just rely on not being dumb in order to tell when someone is being sarcastic. Alternatively, a neat trick OP can use is called: not assuming everyone is incredibly stupid. When she says two contradictory things like that and only one of them can be interpreted as sarcasm, that's usually what happened.

Why are prequel apologists so determined to prove the movies aren't bad? I really enjoy watching them, but they are terrible. Just accept that you enjoy something crappy, like McDonald's or Coke. It doesn't make you a bad car.
@joenesvick7043
@joenesvick7043 7 жыл бұрын
Opinions differ, especially when there's a generational gap. Twilight & The Hunger Games also have fans, some of them hate the prequels. They can honestly say with a straight face that Twilight & Hunger Games are good and the prequels aren't
@10INTM
@10INTM 7 жыл бұрын
Beatrix Wickson Why don't you accept the subjectivity in such a claim makes such a designation useless, especially given that they did something right to draw in enough people as it did? I say the originals aren't as good because they're overly simplistic, don't explore themes and ideas as deep as those in the prequels, and old people forgive them because they never saw them from a set of fresh eyes after the 80's; you can't _prove_ me wrong.
@beatrixwickson8477
@beatrixwickson8477 7 жыл бұрын
10INTM That's the whole point, being a bad film isn't subjective. If the plot doesn't flow, if the characters are two dimensional, if the dialogue is simplistic and lacks subtext if the pacing is bad, these things make a bad film. Whenever people say the Prequels are badly made the counter-claim is "but I enjoyed them and so did lots of people". Are they enjoyable? Well THAT is a subjective claim, but for me, yes I enjoy them very much. But I enjoy them despite being bad films. I must have missed the exploration of deep themes and ideas. I mean there is plenty of great stuff under the surface but it isn't explored. As for nostalgia vision, as a child I didn't think the OT were well made films, they were just good fun. Looking at them critically as an adult is what makes me appreciate them more as works of art. Whereas Superman II and III don't hold up as well. They are just bad movies I loved as a child. If you want to make a case for the PT being good films (rather than just popular, like the Transformers) be my guest, but if you're not already familiar with the common criticisms and can actually address them don't waste your time.
@10INTM
@10INTM 7 жыл бұрын
Beatrix Wickson Well, I say the movies didn't do any of those things wrong or wrongly enough to make it count as bad. Stop proclaiming you have objectivity on your side. If it was so clear that these movies were bad and did all those things wrong then we'd not be still having this debate over a decade later as to whether or not they were or did. On top of that there was a strong bandwagon of dumping on the sequels so the legitimate prevailing opinion among the dislikers is suspect.
@beatrixwickson8477
@beatrixwickson8477 7 жыл бұрын
10INTM The plot is a mess, the characters are paper thin, the dialogue lacks any nuance and there is huge time wasted on actions scenes with no stakes or payoffs only to let the story jump from scene to scene without causality. These aren't my opinions, they are the failings identified by film theorists and professional critics. So that is objective. If I said it has a low score on Rotten Tomatoes then that would be subjective, albeit a good indicator. There is no debate, that would involve engaging with the criticisms and either showing they were false or justifying them, just saying "I can't see anything wrong" isn't a debate and if you can offer anything better then go for it. As for people jumping on a Prequel hating bandwagon, I'm afraid the problems with Phantom Menace were obvious from the start and the bandwagon came after. But sure, some people just love to hate on things, so healthy skepticism is good. That's why the criticisms have to be assessed on merit. With critical thinking. Keeping this simple: if you believe that things like plot structure, dialogue and character development are purely relative and there are no good or bad movies then I guess you've got me. But if you believe that there are good films and bad films then how do you tell one from another? Surely The Godfather is objectively a better film than Pixels? But if I said people just have nostalgia goggles for the Godfather and that I can't see any problems with Pixels all I am doing is showing my lack of understanding of what it means to be a good film. And saying that people just love to hate on Adam Sandler doesn't make Pixels a better crafted story. So as I said in my OP, I enjoy the Prequels! The fight scenes, the costumes, the soundtracks, the environments and basically all of the window dressing is amazing. Just like I enjoy Coke, even though I know that it is basically just sugar, I enjoy it for what it is... a bad drink. Enjoy the Prequels all you want, but don't kid yourself that they aren't bad films.

I'd like to see a Jedi Master carrying on a long-distance relationship with Shmi via the force. She opens the door and a wind blows in, a Marvin Gaye record floats through the air and starts playing on a space victrola; she's lays on a bantha carpet in front of a fire, a glass of bantha wine clinks against another floating in midair; in the bedroom the force rolls mightily under the bedsheets. Cut to: Jedi Temple, a young Jedi with long green ears and his master look down at Yoda meditating and giggling. Young Jedi: Master Yoda meditates a lot. He's very spiritual. Jedi Master rolls his eyes.

"Skippy the Jedi Droid" was never supposed to be canon. The Star Wars Tales comic from which it originates states that some of its tales were just for fun; not to be taken seriously. I believe the in-universe rationalization was that they were a collection of holofilms. Maybe if you were the Generation-Y-Wing you'd know better, never mind that you're probably older than me. Google says you died in 2005, so RIP in Papanoida, I guess.
