Dremel makes a quick release collet for cut off discs and tons of other accessories. I have found the spring loaded function makes changing worn accessories so much easier. It’s fairly inexpensive and good quality.

True, they probably would have helped a little 🥹 Not sure how well they protect from cuts like these, but definitely would've slowed that blade down 😁

Thank you for sharing the your knowledge. If I may ask you a question. I am a complete novice in this craft. Can you advise how to practice with copper first? To solder copper do I use a copper solder ? I ask bc when I look to buy solder for copper it’s all silver color. Also can copper be pickled. And one last question when using liver of sulfur can the stone be set and then patina or patina b4 putting stone in bezel thank you in advance for your time.

I have lived in Vietnam for over 20 years and I cannot buy some of the things you suggest, especially good saw blades, mine break like they are made of tissue paper. 😞 Great video as always, you inspire me every time to keep trying. Thank you so much for making your videos.

Oh no, that must be quite frustrating 😞 I'm guessing ordering from abroad probably means high shipping fees and perhaps some customs. I hope that at least some good saw blades will become available at some point 🙏
@Paullebbon2 ай бұрын
@@TheArtOfMetalsmithing Ordering from abroad is frustrating as things go missing or customs demand high taxes, making the purchase no longer worth it. Things do pop up locally from time to time, and I buy them quickly. You are so lucky for being able to buy Pepe tools, they look top quality. Have a great weekend.

Hi. Thank you for your vidéo. Would you tell me the brand of the sawblades you are speaking about please ? I have this New Concept saw for years and have nothing but troubles with the sawblades. They keep coming loose a million times while I'm sawing. Because sometimes they stay suddenly for weeks I still did'nt buy another saw. They are quite expensive. Then it starts again, they cone off and it drives me crazy. I avoid to make pièces with a lot of sawing 😢 Do you recognise this problem ? Maybe I could try other sawblades. I live in France, maybe you have the adresse in Europe) for good sawblades. Thank you very much in advance. Mieke
@TheArtOfMetalsmithing2 ай бұрын
Sorry, I haven't seen your comment. I never had this issue before, the saw blades I use are by Pepetools (they're called Nano saw blades). I think they're sold in the UK, you'd need to check if they're sold in France or somewhere in Europe. Other ones I used before and was happy with were Super Pike I believe (or Swiss made saw blades are very good). I hope you won't have this issue anymore. Make sure you also flip your frame and remove any saw dust that gathers in the little hole, it may affect how well the blade is being held there. I always flip my frame once a day and shake it or tap it several times, the dust falls out this way 👍

Thank you so much. I will try to find the sawblades. And thanks for the tip of cleaning. But I do that every time. First now the blades and than see what happens. Thanks again. You're very kind. Have a wonderful day. 🍀Mieke
