"Captain's Log. As I survey my new ship, I reflect on how far humanity has come from its savage beginnings, overcoming unthinking prejudice, resource scarcity, and petty nationalism to make a new destiny for ourselves on among the stars." "Oh, actually I'm afraid that's not testing well with audiences. We're bringing back the prejudice and scarcity and nationalism and we're giving the new destiny-among-the-stars bit to the Tau. Sorry about that." "... well, this sucks."

9:56 There *is* a classic episode set in france where _tom_ gets executed. You don't see it, but you hear a big SHUNK and there's a brief shot of an old-timey execution guy with a hood and a shadow of a guillotine right before it happens.

@Anon Ymous you. take. that. back. 😝 Any given ST series is way shitter than any given SG series (except maybe Lower Decks, but after watching two episodes I felt like I wasn't getting 1/4 of the jokes unless I went back and watched other series). And, IMO, if you consider their entire bodies of work, SG > SW, too.

In fairness guys, you are playing a faction you've never played before and you constantly make suboptimal choices yet choose to play on Very Hard difficulty. If you didn't struggle then the game would be very boring as there would be zero room for improvement. Warhammer 2 I breezed through without an issue and I got bored of campaigns and basically just played multiplier instead because it was at least challenging. Warhammer 3 I lost my first campaign which is the first time I've lost since my first game of Warhammer 1. In my second campaign I managed to win, JUST, my third by a fair bit. Play on a lower dificulty. I agree some of the mechanics are bad and the game is very buggy but a lot of your complaints like corruption being too hard is because you've not really applied many measures to block it. If there is some tech or some ability or some building that isn't required at max difficulty to counter it, then the thing is pointless to have in the game. At max difficulty, you should be forced to apply everything. The Tzeentch stop mechanic and the plague mechanic really suck. My strategy is to b-line all techs and abilities which reduce the chance of plague and I try to remove Nurgle as soon as possible. Remember that the rifts allow teleportation. Use that to go into the Nurgle capital, burn it down and remove the faction from the game basically immediately. Tzeentch stop is just a straight-up bad mechanic and modding it out is reasonable. It is literally an ability which makes you stop playing the game, that is intrinsically bad. They do need to fix battle maps. The lighting, layout and movement are all a bit buggy. I've had flying lords land on walls then fall off and die with 7k hp. That never happened in 1 or 2. There might be a mod that fixes them? If not I guess we will have to wait. Also, make sure to turn off shadows in settings. That hugely helps performance and removes a lot of visual bugs. If you want a really easy campaign, play Khorne. He can basically stomp anything, has very low upkeep, spawns free armies, Skarbrand can basically teleport anywhere with the rifts and cults and he has little issues with corruption. Just remember that he automatically spreads to ruins so you should play him as scorched earth. Let him create a huge buffer zone of ruins and then slowly claim them. Also with the blood host armies, send them to wipe out smaller forces, keep the enemy busy and take minor settlements. Your main recruited armies should be going for capitals, large armies and completing the campaign objectives

2:14:03 In relation to the Yellow-Belly thing. The English Yellow-Belly nickname for people from Lincolnshire is completely different to the American term Yellow-Belly to mean coward. In England, it was just a nickname but the origin is slightly unclear. But definitely no link to the modern phrase or meaning. The American Yellow-Belly to mean coward is also unclear but is first used in reference to enemies in the Mexican army. I guess maybe the term Yellow-Belly and coward mixed if you were referring to the enemy as cowards (very normal in war) and also as Yellow-Bellys, over time they become synonymous with each other

If Tom's story on how the Grey Knights bless their bolter rounds is true, the whole Khornate Knights killing Sisters for their blood seems a lot more plausable. Also, how did you not think of changing painting mistakes on your miniatures when you were discussing your paint powers? Get that perfect checkerboard in.

Yes, Ben, Ro Laren was supposed to be in Deep Space Nine, and that episode was all about setting that up and stuff. But the actress didn't want to do it, so they just invented "Kira Nerys" for DS9 - who happens to be, as you say, more or less the same character - and carried on with her instead. Your suspicions are correct. That's exactly what happened.

I'm surprised neither of them thought of the most logical use for mastery over all paint. Painting miniatures. Ben's always talking about how he has tons of minis unpainted because he just hasn't the time or, or can't decide on what to paint them. But with paint mastery, snap your fingers and they paint themselves. If you don't like it, snap your fingers, the paint returns unspoiled to their containers for fresh clean minis.

Gods yeah that tom and jerry clip is brutal! Jerry pokes his head out of a mouse hole and Tom is just waiting to one side with a meat cleaver and just goes bam! And there's blood everywhere, but then Tom keeps chopping again and again in a murderous frenzy while the little bird is looking on from inside the mouse hole in traumatised horror at a severed pair of mouse legs in a massive pool of blood
