As far as the copy protection thing goes it would be a great move. You get hooked and get part way through the game only to find you needed a genuine copy, so then maybe you'd go buy it proper.

That "Reducing the number of this unit" thing, is what really put me off of actually playing 40k. The Tau Codex had just dropped, and I'd just finished kitbashing a bunch of cool, unique Commanders, to run in a super-elite battlesuit army. And then they said "Nope, only One Commander" Absolute buzzkill. I knew Commander Spam was an issue, but it really took the wind out of my sails.

Kinda sucked, for me and I'm sure others, who'd put a fuckton of time into converting unique models

Or just show it on the screen... Switch OBS to a scene with a browser source. Or define your source to screen instead of the game window. Many easy solutions that don't ask risk of showing something "wrong". It's especially annoying because half the time they aren't even playing the game they're playing. Sure it's a "warhammer stream" but if it'd was a warhammer stream, they'd have no viewers.

They really need to improve their naming scheme for these video so they match up with the ones on twitch, sometimes it's borderline impossible to find the vids on twitch so you can check the links they put in chat (which btw I feel like they could just copy and paste into a separate document when they're streaming so that later on they could just paste them into the description of the YT video for everyones enjoyment).

I've read, I'd say 95% of the comments on that vod, and none were disrestpectful angry or anything or even made the claim you are talking about. A lot of "Hey, I love it, but you do you" or "Well, it cannot be nostalgia for me, I only started watching it recently". Nothing unreasonable. Do you get like angry Twitter DMs or where do you find that stuff? Because you seem more "angry" about that stuff than any comment publicly noticeable (You'd have to go pretty deep and find a comment with like 2 likes, maybe, which was rude).
