I've had my Varg for a few weeks now and absolutely love it. I'm not a track guy but do single track all the the time in the AZ desert and the Varg is amazing. 2 weeks ago we rode 25 miles/3.5 hrs (including breaks) which was plenty for me and I still had 50% battery left. I threw a paddle on it and hit up the Glamis dunes last weekend and not surprisingly the battery drained quicker but was still able to get in plenty of riding (about half as much as on hard ground). The balance and performance are top notch IMO, brakes and suspension are excellent. On hard ground/singletrack, at 45 hp and moderately aggressive riding I can get in around 40-50 miles which is PLENTY for this old fart. Charging takes around 2.5 hrs on a 240v generator, around 3 hrs on a regular 110v outlet. I still have my gas bike but given that the Varg can give me what I can handle at my age, I prob won't ride it much more.

Really guys crying about a $45 plug. Bike is 12K. Pretty much every bike owner drops endless cash in their new bike. Suspension, exhaust, ignition, engine mods etc. it’s not going to replace your bike you use for 3 plus hr rides but it has a place for shorter rides and doing Motos. I did a ride day at a moto track, they ran three bikes all day doing 15 min Moto’s. Schedule was two big bike Motos followed by two small bike Motos. They charged the bikes during the half hr break and ran all day with plenty of pro A and AA riders. Every rider was blown away by how good the bike is, cornering is amazing, very well balanced and suspension works so well without the engine inertia. They are a whole lotta fun to ride when you forget about clutching and shifting and focus on form.

Look up a replacement cost for a new battery and then get back to me on it being the future. Much like EV automobiles where people are just finding about about the battery lifespan being 12-15 years, this is essentially a throwaway device as few will pop for a $6-7K battery in 10 years.

Resubscribed. Looking forward to your adventure on this thing. Glad to hear your comments on the EM. I remember your first impression trashed it hard. It's not a traditional dirt bike by any stretch of the imagination. It's more trials, and lots of fun for different reasons. Great balance trainer, etc. As for Electrics like the Varg, they aren't going to replace ICE bikes anytime soon. Battery technology would have to have a revolution. If/when EV's become more popular, I'd imagine tracks would have charging outlets available instead of people running generators, unless the track is really remote. My EM has a clutch and I have never used it. The EM can' only go about 25mph. In the tight technical stuff it excels at, you are 98% of the time at low speed. All you gotta do is blip the throttle and the front end goes right up. I'd imagine an 80 hp Varg would pull the front up at high speed with all that power, provided there is traction. But I'm sure you'll have fun testing that out. Enjoy it for what it is. I look forward to your rides on it and the adventure this takes you on.

Many KTM sourced parts, wheels, brakes, sprockets. kick stand is garbage. bike is very narrow. Weight is a non issue in single track. Suspension is above average and stiff..Anything above @45 hp is worthless... 60/80 hp is beyond worthless aside from bragging rights at the local pub. Torque is immediate and great for log/rock hopping... Charge time is beyond excessive. battery life is fair for single track, @ 2 hours (@40 HP).. cannot swap out $8k spare battery. Overall a very cute novelty for the well healed... Bike has ZERO personality, soulless and lacks character... It feels like a electric mountain bike on steroids... Once the novelty wears off... The Stark will sit in a corner...AND at nearly $15 is a extremely poor value...

Larger battery, thus more range and was made more for Enduro riding. Also the motor and controller are separate and the battery although a pain can be changed in about 20-30 minutes. People not understand a good use for electric are simple minded. Home tracks, if you are quiet no one will care. Social trails, again if you are quiet no one knows thus they don't care. Also you don't have to only own one bike at a time, I never understood that thought process. Each bike is a different use, people always trying to full fill their riding with ONE bike is funny.

@@KTMsoldier1988 you do you, don't knock it till you at least try one. I've had many different dirtbikes and enduros, so much fun to take the Ultra Bee for a spin, just turn the key and give it the beans, don't need to worry about letting it warm up, fill gas, swap the air filter, change the oil, check valves, charge the 12 v battery.. and the Bee is so much lighter, plus it has reverse, traction controll, different powermodes etc. so it feels kinda like cheating sometimes

Have you ridden one?

Nope. When that’s all that’s left I will find something else to do.

Good way to weed out the fake fans. It's not a replacement but a huge growth area for the sport anyways.

@@cdnmoto849 I'm sure he could care less, my comment was meant for other viewers to see, hence how you made it here. I don't care for the electric content, feel free to cuddle up with Chastity Bono and watch as many electric videos as you like together.

Oh, about 20,000 people for the Varg and that accounts for about 25% of the total MX market with one bike. What a moron!
