An in depth look at the sequencer, designed to help you get the most out of the synth. Probably the best function that could get overlooked is using the assign as a basic LFO for S&H and gentle sweeps at 15:57

You don´t have to use the combination SHIFT+RESET/ACCENT and GLIDE to input Ratchet. The combi is SHIFT and GLIDE.

Just got a Crave. This machine is intimidating. But your video helps A LOT! Thank you very much. I'm 51, but my autistic nephew loves retro music gear, and I buy them, learn how to use them properly & show him. Needless, he figures it out in 15 minutes. But, knowing how to use it is useful for me.

Another video that has pushed me closer to wanting one. All the complaints I've seen leveled at it are unforgiving of the Crave's price point. People either want to dismiss it due to the Behringer name or because it has a few flaws. But really... this is a perfect little box! Either, to add to an established collection of synth gear or as a way for a bedroom musicians to get a nice real synth sound into their music for not a lot of money.

Really appreciate this video! I've owned this synth for a couple months and whenever I return to it after playing another synth, I'm always lost on how to use this. I've used this video a couple times to help me remember how to use this darn thing!

Finally, finally someone who really explains the assign sequencer stuff. Was much easier than i thought! The standard sequencer operation however, in spite of you demonstrating it really well, is pure horror. How can anyone in the 21st centure accept such a user interface from a synthesizer company? All in all, many thanks for this and your other videos, that really helped me out getting much more out of the Crave!

I may be late but thanks so much for this tutorial! Not only is It funny and entertaining but It also opened up a whole new level of modulation for me! Before that i never knew how to use It, got frustranted and just used an external sequencer.. now i have a decent sequencer + a weird LFO-thingy.. coming from a Eurorack setup, this is also highly interesting for CV-sequencing, apart from the fact that you can modulate the tempo, play/stop, reset and hold.. its crazy man! Thank a million!!

Mad props to you for helping folks decipher the Crave sequencer but the sequencer design itself is madness, the work of a madman, a Dr. Frankenstein who has created a monstrosity so complex and difficult to understand that the most ardent Universal Monster, synthesizer aficionado, would be hard preassed to embrace.

Totally agreed. Given that it isn't the most mindblowing sequencer to start with, making it this complex to use is utter madness. Could have been so much clearer. Unless you don't own another sequencer (or you['ve already had to learn this one due to owning another Broduct I can't see reason one to use this one.. I think the number of times an experienced synther like Starsky realised he'd made a (very understandable) error is testament to that.

Finally, a sequencer more cryptic than the 303 and KPR-77 units. ~ got the K2 yesterday after watching your comparison video and *Limbic Bits* sound demo, - it's a great synth in it's own right.... but gotta say, the *crave* just feels like a *volca* version of the *mother-32* - though it's probably built better than both. ~

On the ghost bleed triggers issue - upgrading the firmware fixes it. (Out of the box I had 1.0.5, upgraded to 1.1.6). The sequencer sure is tricky. Very 80's throwback programming! Too many people turn their noses up at Behringer stuff but I think they're great at making affordable music gear. I'm mainly a guitarist and I have a couple of their guitar pedals, their larger form factor pedals, the Vintage Tube Monster and Vintage Tube Overdrive and they're great value. They also made a very good copy of ElectroHarmonix's Deluxe Memory Man. They also make decent guitar amps. I wouldn't mind getting something like this sequencer, and a drum machine but their 808 copy is a little limited for what I want, but if they made something like a copy of the Roland TR-8S with multiple kits on it then I'd probably buy one of them. As far as I'm concerned you can't beat Behringer for value for money, I know their stuff is made in China but most things are, and at the end of the day all their gear is designed in Germany, and that can't be a bad thing. 👍

Is there a way to play back patterns "in time" i.e. when calling a new patterns can the Crave be made to wait to change patterns until the end of the current pattern, rather than changing instantly? I couldn't find a key combination to do this and was hoping that there may have been a firmware update since last year when it didn't seem possible. Any news/help/progress please?
