Hey! Justin here. I've been hard at work behind the scenes for the last year building out Flipwise, the automated eBay platform of my dreams. I hated logging inventory and sales data in spreadsheets just so I could know how my eBay business is performing and be ready for tax time. Now Flipwise automates all of that for me. If this sounds interesting, you can get more info at flipwise.app and use the promo code Gl3BN4cX5ks for 20% off your first month.

Agree 100%. So glad he hasn't started putting his video titles in all caps or featuring thumbnail selfies of him looking gobsmacked ("I NEVER thought EBAY would do THIS!?!?!?!?!?" etc. etc. etc.). Straightforward, easy to follow, honest information without overblown hype is what grabbed me in the first place, and it's why I've stayed!

How much time do you put in into ebay?
@SpvceGoat3 ай бұрын
@@soulassassin4847 at first A LOT! being new and unfamiliar with reselling I was very cautious and triple checking everything. But the learning curve is starting to pay off. Now about 3 months in I've finally got a little routine down. I source the same few places on Fridays. Haven't done the garage sale hunting thing yet though. I clean and inspect everything on Friday as well. Saturday morning I start listing. Sometimes Sunday too depending on Fridays haul. Then I go to the post office in the mornings following a sale from the day before. It's not everyday I make a post office run (which is 3 miles away) as my store is still pretty small and I'm still trying to find my niche. I'd rather "specialize" in a few products rather than have a cornucopia of many random items like I did in the first month. I'm starting to see what sells fast and trying to stick to those items. Gaming headphones and oddly, automatic hand soap dispensers sell within 24hrs pretty much consistently. Also I'll price mine at to be the cheapest if even by $1 and always do a 2% promoting of it. All in all I'd say I spend, very roughly, around 20ish hours a week doing all of the above combined. But each week I seem to be getting faster with the whole sourcing and especially listing.

Hi Justin, I began listing on eBay in the late 1990s. I have one of the very early eBay "PowerSeller" mugs, which they sent out free if you met the qualifying numbers. It showed up in the mail with a certificate I filed away somewhere. I got out of "doing" eBay, but in retirement, I decided to do it again for extra cash. I ran across this video and decided to see what you had to offer. I was blown away by how much great info you had to offer. Things have changed so much, so I guess I am closer to a newbie than the pro I used to be. I'll be checking out more of your posts. Thanks for putting up a very well-produced and informative video.

One of my suggestions to beginner sellers is that photos are everything. That main pic will often determine whether the prospective buyer enters your shop or not. Huge margins of dead space (nooo), blurryness (nooo), or ridiculous sloppy placement of a group-item listing (I’m thinking, no thanks because if the seller throws the items together THERE, they won’t care about anything else). Also, a basic knowledge of simple jewelry repair will help to make a lot of money in the end.

I'm new to selling on eBay and I generally find a similar item to what I'm selling and use the eBay function to "Sell Similar Item" as mentioned in the video. However, I assumed the shipping information was also self generated based on the item being sold? I've sold and shipped about 30 items so far and I have never adjusted the shipping box dimensions or weight for any of my orders, I just purchased the shipping label through eBay, printed it and taped it to the top of the box. After reviewing my sold items and looking at my current auctions the auto loaded dimensions and weight are WAY off and show dimensions and weights that are considerably smaller and less weight then what I'm actually shipping. This baffles me because I have never had an item returned by the post office for the cost and dimensions for the paid shipping label being way smaller and lighter then the package I actually shipped?
@ambitiousseeds73466 ай бұрын
Ive been doing free shipping on all my items, but didn't realize the shipping cost. for example, i purchased a vintage camera for $6 and listed for $30.. after shipping and fees I made $9 profit. so let that be a lesson for me. now im thinking of charging buyers a flat rate of 4.99 for shipping.
