@@scrapefarm There was a time in the 80's/90's here in the U.K, and probably in other countries too, if you was a non-white 'businessman' driving one of these, you'd be pulled over by the police constantly. They would have to drive very small, old, cheap cars to avoid the cops! All changed today though, as driving an MB or ar BMW means nothing. 🤔 ✔🇬🇧👍💯

Too bad it is so far gone.. This car is exceptionally specked up, I never saw a W126 or any car of that era with that much options. It must have cost a fortune back in 1986 despite the weaker engine. So sad to see that the rust nearly ate it up completely.

I got a w140 that was in the garage for 20 years. Guy drove less than a 1000 miles. I did the plugs on it, cables, filters, oil, fuel pump and the most important, fuel pressure regulator. Starts and drives like a Mercedes Benz.

First thing I would have done is change the oil. Even if it was the cheapest oil you could find. You have the opportunity to clean all the old oil out as 8 years is enough time for it to migrate downward.

I too thought is was a carburettor engine, but I think it is fuel injection. Electric fuel pump and injector unions can clearly be seen. Started well though. 👍😎💯🇬🇧

Fuel injection is way different that is still a carburetor electronically actuated the fuel delivery but still mechanically driven let's say a complicated version of carburetor...but I will convert it rather to weber or solex carburetor or fuel injected carburetor the one used in racing
