At first I didn't think the body was that bad - bit of a filled wheel arch with mismatched paint, odd rust scab here and there, the same as most cosmetically-challenged-but-solid Couriers, might need a tickle with a welder every year but otherwise ok. Then I realised that every aspect of it was completely and utterly fucked. Still, it started easily and the engine sounds healthy lol.

Andy the car nerd That 1.8d 44kw engine was quite bad, usually cam belt snapped early and powerless too. Not used on other European Fords for about 20 years. That bodywork is really biodegradable too, Fords were notorious for their lack of rust prevention.

There was a Ford Fiesta van?
@RWL20125 жыл бұрын
yes, the Ford Courier van was made from 1991 to 2002 (alongside the Mk5/6 Escort vans) and changed front ends twice (1995 and 1999) along with the Fiesta car and Fiesta van (as in the car-shaped van). The 1.8 litre turbo-Diesel engine was available in the 1999-2002 ones. The same back end with the 1986-2000 Transit rear lights was used throughout production (and from 1995, the _Courier_ badge in the same font as the "smiley" Transit's _Transit_ badge was applied). Both the Courier van and Escort van were replaced by the Transit Connect in 2002, which is a "Focus van" and has been produced in several generations. The car-shaped Fiesta van continued (and continues) production, changing generations with the Fiesta car, but in 2014, The Transit Courier (a new "real" Fiesta-based van) was added to the range 12 years after the old Courier van ended production. There was once even a Ka van made - BT had a fleet of them, and due to platform limitations they weren't Diesel-engined but rather still 1.3 petrol.
