I had a corn snake for over 15 years. Interesting and beautiful animal and I liked that she was quiet 😂 My cat loudly makes himself known at every possible opportunity. Great idea for a sketchbook theme.

Love that you made your theme snakes. I can't wait to see more of your pieces in here. I love snakes and all reptiles and really all animals ha. But snakes are just amazing little creatures and I'm always wondering what's going on in their little noggins. Have a great day and thanks for sharing!

Definitely agree that some stigmatization of some pet owners (such as with snakes and lizards) can be unnecessary and uncalled for (especially if they're responsible pet owners and their pets are happy/healthy). I suspect some of the stigmatization is, sadly, Hollywood's doing since the usual portrayal of snake and lizard owners is either that they're eccentric/edgy, creepy, or usually antagonistic/villainous characters. Off the top of my head, I think of characters like Mitch from the OG Powerpuff Girls Series (though he's usually a side character in the show, one of the episodes where he was there to be an antagonistic bully character had him about to feed the class pet hamster to his snake before the Powerpuff Girls stopped him), and Sir Egar from Ella Enchanted.

a cool start to a new sketchbook! especially liked the first snake, it's so colorful/ it would've been interesting to hear about these old paints (sorry didn't get their name). and i also really recommend you to do master studies, they're actually really enjoyable and helpful when it comes to light and shadow, so good luck with this one and the other goals ofc
