The Huttan clan uses Republic PDF gear. I think the planets tried to stay isolated during the rise of the Empire, but the Empire found them anyway and wrecked the planet and now the last survivors are fighting over scraps
@joekyle659414 күн бұрын
Yeah, I think it's very likely the clans on At Achrann have been trading with warlords, merchants, and smugglers and probably have an assortment of all sorts of old equipment they purchased from any willing sellers. A lot of smaller factions in Star Wars, especially immediately after the fall of the Empire, seem to really like using old Imperial equipment, of only because of its quality and how commonplace it is. Alternatively, there's a chance the gear they're using is some kind of Old Republic equipment left on the planet for its defense when it was hidden away, but I find it really unlikely military equipment would last that long on a planet like this.

@Bionickpunk But still, the planet being attacked doesn’t justify the state of permanent clan war, the inhabitants have access to offworld ressources (as stated in the episode they bargain for munitions) so they could have easily fled their planet a long time ago since the destruction of their version of the Barrier or bought passage with those who are bargaining with them or bargained for food and other essential ressources (resolving the conflict). Instead of that they prefer engage in some kind of wargame (the weapons used, the “flag" line, all of the setting seems off) and bargain their few ressource to continue a fight with seemingly no start or end

When Neel fainted I was like "He died? And this is supposed to a kid's movie..."
@Scorch102815 күн бұрын
I also thought that Neel died. It's because his fainting was delayed until after his friends assembled around him. They were cheering him on for saving their lives, and then Neel fainted, as opposed to fainting immediately after SM-33 fell on him -- which would have made more sense. By contrast, the chunky dude in _Road House_ fainted the moment that the stuffed polar bear fell on him in his boss's trophy room. That's what I would have expected Neel to do when SM-33 fell on him, but the writers had something different in mind.

I thought about it more and I'm definitely feeling a lot of parallels to Fallout. The neighborhoods looked so similar. The 9 planets = vaults. The supervisors = overseers, the great work = vault social experiments. In Fallout 4 some of the plot revolved around raiders breaking in and interfering with things. I'm starting to think maybe this second hidden planet had a Militaristic themed great work. And when things broke down they devolved into fighting factions. Maybe the schools focused on things like military cadet training and that ended up influencing their current state. Would be cool if other planets devolved or ended up reflecting the Great Work's theme as well.

I think they will go to another planet that has the coordinates in that room to see if there is a simliar tower.

I was surprised to see Mathieu Kassovitz in a Star Wars project ! He's a very famous french actor and director. He had a cameo in The 5th Element ;)

The Daniels directed that episode - is worth a mention ❤

The first time he said "Can't say I remember no At-Attin" in this episode, I realized that something was up. No one was talking to him, yet he still said that. And that's when I realized it. So when they realized it after the like 3rd or 4th time, I was happy to see I was right

I had absolutely zero expectations heading into this show, but I've been enjoying it so much. It's just like ... a fun adventure in a way we don't often get on TV anymore.

The more I watch this adorable series, the more I have to think about its parallels to Treasure Island or rather its Treasure Planet reinterpretation. This episode was actually more on the Peter Pan side of things when the kids get stranded and encounter the lost kids? Also the mystery around what really happened with Jod Da? I wouldn’t be surprised if the Hattan are in a way related to his pirate buddies and he convinced them with the old republic credits to support his quest for the treasure.

So the Captain is gonna be the Supervisor maybe? Stole the role from someone and is living the high life?

The opening also made me believe they were back home. Thought the auto-landing lock feature was because ships weren't allowed there so I definitely thought they were about to be summoned to the Supervisor. Love how this show keeps you guessing.

To be fair, in that Avatar The Last Airbender episode, we don't know that it was something inconsequential. Aang just made a story up because no one remembered the root of the conflict - for all we know it might've been consequential at one point in the distant past.

Doesn't SM 33 have a lot of similarities with K2 SO?

Great review as always, Alex! 👍👍 Yeah, a great episode with some interesting tid bits and like you mentioned character developments. And Neel, what else can you say about the little guy? What makes him a badass is his kindness and compassion in spite of what's happening around him and his friends. Loving Neel more and more. And don't worry about reviewing the next two episodes late. You and Molly enjoy your Holidays. You both deserve it. May The Force Be With You, Both. ☺️🎄🎁☃️❄️

This was my favorite episode, so far, too. I agree about the satellites in the barrier. I'm impressed whenever a child can realistically cry on camera. I'm ever more interested in the At Attin mystery, now. The "At" planets were built with layouts similar to each other but the 2 we've seen so far have vastly different societies even if the species are the same. Watching Neel in the foreground or background is delightful. The statues with coordinates reminds me of a Metroid game or something. The buildings in one place being intact and another place being in ruin reminds me of A Link to the Past.

seems to,me that they have the coordinants of the other "jewels" why not go to one of them and see if there is a tower there with at atins coordinants

I watched episode one : Kids escape a dystopian prison planet, that resembles North- American suburbia, complete with helicopter droids and copy-paste houses . Enough said ;)

I'm getting Fallout Vibes from this. Like maybe each planet served a different purpose, like the vaults, and some failed horribly.

just an overarching opinion to add to something you said... I too take a while to take a liking to the details in these types of series. One of the deficiencies is the single digit number of episodes in a season. if there were more (as the Clone Wars series) episodes, I believe the bond I develop with the characters and commitment to the series would definitely run deeper. I also agree this is a VERY VERY good series and find myself hooked to it.

While not deviating, and even conforming to Star Wars' visual "bible". For some reason it was a little weird seeing an American M1 helmet from WW2 with no greebles. It caught me off guard for some reason. I'm not suggesting that's a bad thing at all, just stood out to me.
