What good is a chief if he is not aware of how his officers conduct themselves in public? So, I would say yes, it is the chief's fault for not knowing & removing this nut case!!!
@anon24142 жыл бұрын
@@dontcare9689 I'm talking about getting hired in the first place. The chief is not a psychologist. It's a psychologist job to determine if a person is mentally fit to be a police officer..a psychologist conducts tests so they could determine temper issues and so on ...they conduct "stress" tests, etc. If a psychologist says that a person is mentally fit for a job then that's a psychologist fault for passing him. This guy obviously has anger issues. A chief can only fire somebody after the fact after they screw up on the job... But that's reactive not proactive.... This guy was suspended already so obviously his department suspended him because of his issues on the job. LAPD has over 9,500 officers. It depends how large a department is. Misconduct will never go up to the chief unless it's severe....a captain is in charge of every PD station.

Lets say everything he claimed was true: -shoving someone does not justify to choke him for eight minutes -he still resisted the arriving police officers and basically held that repo-guy as a hostage -he was about to get arrested, so even if he just "walked" away, it would justify pushing him to the ground to handcuff him The one thing i can say in his defence: He didn´t do all this in his function as a police officer, otherwise i would say that he should be punished ten times as hard as a non-police-officer.
@sheldondinkleberg65252 жыл бұрын
I sorta disagree. if you push me, im putting you in a choke hold till cops show up, This cop wasnt trying to choke him out, 8 minutes in a choke like that would kill. easily. How ever, even if the repo man pushed the cop, the repo man was doing his job lawfully, meaning the cop put himself in a situation he didnt need to be in and escalated it.
@Omega08502 жыл бұрын
@@sheldondinkleberg6525 First of all: I agree, he didn´t do it in order to kill him, but the repo man doesn´t know that, and you can clearly see that he was panicing. Second: If you try to put someone in a choke hold that just shoved you, you are escalating the situation. If that person knows how to defend himself, he would be absolutly justified to fight back and maybe severely injure you, because the other person doesn´t know if you want to kill him or not. Lets say the repo man found a screwdriver in his pocket, and - in his panic - rammed it in the cops eye. Could anyone blame him? No, because he wasn´t the one that escalated it to the point where he had to fear for his life.

He is a cop. He knows that the repo man has the legal right to repossess their car. You, as a private citizen, do not have the legal right to stop a legal repossession. He knows that. The repo man would not randomly go out of his way to shove an individual during a repossession. Especially, if the man is 1/2 again his size. Common sense would dictate that, even IF he was shoved (with his constant lying about events that were caught on camera, I highly doubt), he was likely attempting to interfere with a lawful act. As a private citizen with no law enforcement or legal background, MAYBE he wouldn’t know that. But, as a state trooper, he 100% did know he was committing an illegal act by interfering with a repossession. If he didn’t, then he was also severely incompetent on top of it all.
