A thought in regard to the truck carpet. Maybe a hand held steam cleaner to heat and soften the fibers and then weight it down until it dries out to give it the desired shape.

Hey Seven ..... Nice to hear the things have gotten BETTER for ya !! Life has a way of averaging out, over time .... LIKE the upgrades in electrical and having the rear drop down door/ramp makes an excellent deck for ya .... (You will really appreciate that feature during cooler / damp weather conditions ... ). And you shoulder is healing up (naturally....) NICE 😉👍👍

Nice update. Not going to visit sister in Oregon? As where you are the weather here in Alabama is nice, granddaughter got to in the pool for the first time this year. Oregon had snow last week. I remember Forrest Grove in the 60s with snow around Christmas and sleigh rides down town. That was a couple days ago. Fun memories stay with us. Trek you sister hi from me Rock on and be safe

Buy a tube of "Shoe Goop" and place a small amount under where the carpet lifts. Place some weight on top to hold the carpet down. Once hard the carpet will stay down.

Hi Seven, Glad the truck is working well, and it sounds as though you are getting the solar issue worked out, along with other parts of your cargo trailer project. As for your shoulder, very glad that it is feeling better, your self-directed rehab program is clearly going in the desired direction. I'll add my two cents to some others' comments and remind you that I am a (now fully retired woo-hoo!) family doctor. A plain Xray will give you very little useful information. An MRI is what you need, and an urgent care isn't going to have one. Being seen at a clinic with orthopedics or sports medicine is most likely to give you what you're looking for. Cheers and keep healing!

Sounds like refrigerator has an inadequate capacitor in it. Capacitor is like a battery, stores electrical energy for quick powerful release. Most appliances will be used in a house with grid power, so they end up getting a smaller,weaker capacitor, whereas those on systems like yours would need more "capacitance" available.

My husband tore his rotater cuff in 2020 and he couldn't even raise his arm. It would bend at the elbow, but he had no range of motion to raise above his waist. It looks like you are doing great! But I agree that you need an MRI to totally diagnose.

Something tells me interior installers used steam to heat and loosen the fibers in the carpet to stretch it into place. As for the hard start issue with the frige. Some time back a coupe of years I thought that the RV Geeks channel had shown an electronic device that could be used for certain appliances to eliminate this issue. You might want to put a word out to them and see if try could give you a heads up as to the device they used. I am surprised with the thousands of junk yards here in the states and many of which are now linked with a computer network for finding parts that if you hit the right operation they might be able to put out a request for the parts you are still missing. Hang in there and enjoy life!

Yes there's a variety of them available but they are much more expensive than a standard fridge and a high quality Inverter. I also run a 120 V full size upright fridge full time from my Inverter. I use about 600 watts per 24 hours to run it, including inverter losses and the inverter running full time. The DC units can do about 10% better, with the exception of the specialty "off-grid" units that are heavilty insulated, they can do quite a bit better but cost even more. Using a quality inverter is key to success with running a full size fridge. The Victron Phoenix 800 and 1200 are ideal for it. Seven has an 800, I've got a 1200..

Look into the spingym device. I found one at a thrift store for 2 dollars and my shoulder gets a tingle later after I have played with it.

Glad to hear you're happy with the overall truck status. The little stuff might be a nuisance and frustrating; however, the fact it has a solid drivetrain is what matters most

Thank you for the update, Seven. I've followed you since before you purchased the step van. I love camping and enjoy your travels and experiences that you share with us. I do hope you are enjoying your time on a daily basis and I enjoy following your trailer build as well. Both of my sons own similar trucks and they tow fantastically and I believe you have the premier truck for towing. I do pray you have a great year and accomplish all you endeavor. Good luck and thanks again for the updates. I know we all enjoy your videos and we wish you well.

X-ray won't help you very much. Really need MRI to diagnose your shoulder.

Like you I am transitioning away from my step van RV conversion. In my case I got a Class B van (Hymer Aktiv 2.0). It is taking a little while to learn its systems and the most frustrating one was losing house power and getting the system to reset. The systems on this van are overly complex when compared to my step van. Oh well, life is full of tradeoffs and I will get it figured out

I was wondering how it tows. Good news. Progress can be slow but you are moving forward so yay! Your experience with the solar is interesting - makes sense. Sounds like your shoulder is on the mend. I hope so anyway. Are you considering buying alternatives to wood given the crazy price? Or kicking back to wait for it to become reasonable? I see the metal structure components so clearly at least for part & I think that lighter too. Best wishes.

If you have lithium batteries (LIFEPO4, I assume) you should know that the voltage curve is very flat. You cannot rely on voltage to tell you capacity remaining, unlike lead acid batteries. If you have a shunt, look you should watch the Ah entering (charging) and leaving (discharging), and use that to judge how much power you leave in the batteries. Also, lithium batteries chemistry does not magically allow you to discharge down to zero. If you do, you will shorten the life of the battery considerably, and will probably damage them. Most good batteries will have a BMS that prevents this, but don’t assume you can discharge it down to zero.

I recommend the Feldenkrais method for assistance with your shoulder.... and everything really. Try Taro Iwamoto to start. He's taught me a lot that has changed the game for my torn rotator cuff, as well as the rest of this old machine. Good luck!

Explain how 3 controllers can “only cost 10% more than 1” ?
@sbwinn
@sbwinn 2 жыл бұрын
Each of the three controllers are 30 amp controllers. To use one controller you need a 90+ amp controller and they cost about 3X more. Each of the three controllers he has can only handle two panels, a single one would have to be big enough to handle the power of al 6 panels at the same time.

He often does. No hate here, I still watch and read comments. I call it Paralysis of Analysis. It’s quite common among first time builders, myself included. I’m 2 years + on a Skoolie Conversion.

SOME OTHER ADVANTAGES OF HAVING MORE THAN ONE CHARGE CONTROLLER, ARE REDUNDANCY, IF ONE GOES BAD, YOU STILL HAVE 2, ALSO IS INITIAL COST. COMING UP WITH $150 IS A LOT EASIER THAN $500-$1200 FOR ONE THAT HANDLES ENOUGH AMPS FOR YOUR ENTIRE SYSTEM. NEXT TIME YOU ASK PEOPLE FOR HELP, TELL THEM ALL THE PARTICULARS, YOU MADE IT SOUND LIKE YOU HAD A DRAIN ON YOUR SYSTEM, AND YOU WASN'T USING ANYTHING. NOW YOU SAY YOU HAD A FRIG RUNNING, SOMETHING WITH A HIGH LRA DRAW ON START UP. NO WONDER BATTERIES WENT DEAD. SITTING IN THE SHADE, AND RUNNING A FRIG? REALLY??

Seven my lease is not being renewed May 1st.Are any of your rentals here in Florida fir rent by chance? Can a soft start relay be connected to the compressor for your fridge like the relay for RV A/C's? Check out buying a 12 volt fridge that will run off your batteries and are available in front loading type also
