What I gather from this tip is finding balance. I'm 67 and can drive a ball accurately between 275 and 300 +, but I can't do it swinging out of my socks and shoes. I find my timing and ball striking are optimum with a 3\4 swing. I'm able to generate a swing speed of high 90/low 100's and able to easily accomplish what you go over in this video. Flexibility is the key component, and having a solid pre shot routine. Really enjoy your common sense approach to making this sport simple, and fun.

Fantastic explanation, Marcus! I know some of the viewers have your indoor simulator videos, but I wonder if they've ever looked at your peak height numbers with a stock driver, and compared it to their own. I think most golfers have a feeling of how their driver flies, but have they measured it on a simulator and compared it with yours and other pros. They might be very surprised.

I’m sure this is the key to avoid coming over the top, thank you! I can’t see why it’s not good for iron shots as well though. If I allow my head to move forward I tend to pull my irons, even wedges. Staying behind with the head until after impact is vital for any swing don’t you think? You must of course get your hips forward (letter C shape), otherwise you can hit it fat. Agree?
@GolfwithMarcusEdblad Жыл бұрын
If the move forward comes from the pulling with the lead arm you are probably correct. 👍

Do you have any tips/ drills to consistently hit the ball well with the driver ? would you just recommend to hit a lot of balls with different speed ? I feel like my Smash factor is so random. I Have been trying to keep my head back to have a positive attack angle on trackman, but it goes too high with a lot of spin because of my bad strikes. Appreciate your videos.
@GolfwithMarcusEdblad Жыл бұрын
Hi Bjarne. We need to do one thing at a time and you can start with attack angle. If you want to hit up on the ball you need to find time for the club to move enough BEFORE you hit the ball. Timing is the key, watch this: kzbin.info/www/bejne/j4LMlKyuiK-diqMsi=50Zx5bjT5uE9OIKb

Good video, one question, don’t know if it’s camera angle, but you seem to be a very high position of tee peg, seems almost ball and a half above?

Hi Gary. For most golfers that would be scary but I'm use to a high tee and find it easier. It's a 4 inch tee. 👍

For me the hardest part is getting the center of mass going forward and not the top of the spine going with it. Any image advice you can offer
@GolfwithMarcusEdblad Жыл бұрын
Hi. That's what I'm trying to explain in this video. I think we need to separate what happens over and under the waist. Start with the feeling off hitting your trail hand up on the underside of a table. That will give you a head that moves up and back. When that feels okey try to move forward and lift your trail foot in the follow through and finish high.

Another good video Marcus 👍 Just wanted to ask something to see if I'm on the right track. From the top of my backswing I feel as if I'm pushing and straightening my trail arm in the opposite direction to where I want the club to end up. So if it were a clock and straight ahead of me is 12, I feel as if I'm pushing back in the direction of 4/5. Does this make sense, or am I talking nonsense? 🙂 Cheers!

Same apply to iron ?

It's almost never the same with irons and driver. When we put pressure into the club to go down you will not be staying back as much as you do with a good driver swing.

When i try making low point 2 feet behind the ball, then swing up.. i only top the ball
@GolfwithMarcusEdblad Жыл бұрын
That could happen if the ball is to far forward or your tee is to short. Could that be the case?
@PakWillie Жыл бұрын
@@GolfwithMarcusEdblad well it could be after hitting low point 2 feet behind the ball, i can’t find the angle for hitting up, it has to be slow incline , like airplane take off, then strait up after impact.. that is my problem, thinking up from 2 feet behind the ball.. i will keep experimenting with ball location. Thanks

At 70 years of age I’m adding to my Channel Lock protocols your how to strike the golf ball … it’s taking some time but the results are good With your driver where is the ball position? The ball tracer looks like a wide draw … is that correct? If so do you ever try and tighten up that wide draw so the width is more compact? I’m presuming the face angle is equal to your swing path angle? Do you ever consider Ball Flight Laws when setting up with your irons and driver One of your previous videos addresses this but the draw ark looks as the face and swing path are the same? Great explanation on how to finish up…something I catch myself not doing and for me it’s a push ball Great video and I appreciate your answers to my questions 👍
@GolfwithMarcusEdblad Жыл бұрын
Many questions. 😁 Ball position is 4 inches in front of middle. My normal draw with a driver would be about a 30-40 feet curve. I normally don't try to hit it straighter but I rarely hit driver on the golf course. If I hit my 3 wood the curve is probably half but it's still a 300 yard shot. Face angle is between path and target. I'm always thinking of ball flight laws to produce the shot I want, always. Releasetiming will decide if it's a draw or a push. OK?

Then we are doing the same. My weight shift is late with driver but earlier with an iron shot.

@@justthrowitgolf thank you. That’s good to know. I feel better. lol people have commented that I’m reverse pivoting but I’m not. My weight starts on the back and stays until after impact then it goes to the front. I see Marcus doing the same thing. Not a reverse pivot at all.
