In this video, we discuss the middle of the glide. Specifically the need to stay low in the middle and not use the head or the shoulders to get speed through the middle. Using the head and the shoulders typically has the athlete landing way too tall in the power position with the weight shifted too far over the blocking leg. Check out the drill in the video as a way to scare your athletes into staying low (in a good way).

Naved Ansari it really depends on the thrower and the event, experience, etc. If you have throwers in mind that you want to learn more about, try searching for them and following them on Instagram.

Hey coach, great video! I’ve been having trouble keeping my right leg (I’m a lefty) down as I cross the circle, it donkey kicks up and then my weight shifts forward when it lands in the front. I feel like if I think about it I can extend the leg low, but it still pops up after that. Any ideas on how I could fix this?
