I sometimes like knocking with a partner, because it keeps me from getting bored AND if I'm with someone who's wearing the same polo/logo as me, it seems more legit. Also showing gratitude towards those who answer and hear you out EVEN IF they aren't a fit, I appreciate that they gave me a chance and I let them know that! I walk away not with a deal, HOWEVER I feel warm and fuzzy after a heart felt thank you.
@TheRoofStrategist4 жыл бұрын
Dig the gratitude for sure! I get asked a lot about "tag teaming" at the door. There's a lot to be said about the effectiveness, but I always bring this up. Will it 2x or more your sales productivity? If the answer is YES, keep it up. If not, I would go solo. This is only to respect your time and be efficient ya know? Everything else you talked about with gratitude is spot on!!

@@vendingservices8900honestly. Personally I'm new to a company as a canvasser and I have a canvass manager but she is a bulldozer she listens to people but she pushes and pushes and pushes to set an appointment and it works but people feel like they didn't have a choice in the end. our company will go back to a map after 6 months or a year and people often remember us. So my thing is I feel you are better off not pushing to hard being respectful and nice and having conversations and getting to know people even if they don't want anything because when we come back they will remember that we were respectful and understanding and that has made tons of people who gave strong No's once before give a strong YES 6 months or a year down the line.

Adam, oh Adam… I’ve been doing door to door sales for the past 3 years, and I want to say thank you. THANK YOU. I recently left a restoration company with 3 million in my pipeline ready to get built in spring, (knocked all winter long) and the company got bought out by private investors that changed the way the company paid commissions. I made a lateral change to a different roofing company and I am running into burnout. The type of burn out where I feel distant with reality… anyway…. Here I am up at 1am worrying about how I am going to muster up the ability to “smash my income goals” and be able to pay for a wedding for my fiancé. Your video made me realize that I am not the only one that runs into burnout.. thank you again for posting yet another great masterpiece!

I've been working as a caregiver for years, and I am totally burnt out. I'm 42, I don't have any other kind of experience, no education, and I just don't want to take care of people anymore... 😧 I was looking on Indeed and saw "Canvasser for a local non-profit." Which led me here, lol. It was relieving to read your comment, because I felt as if someone else gets it. I'm not sure if I'll even apply for the job. But like you said "we all experience burnout" and like he said "look at (it/each shift) like dollar signs. Best of luck to all of us fighting burnout. 🙏💜

Dont count your eggs until they hatch, there are tons of variables in roofing, but I guess if you are a comission salesmen vs the owner you guarantee the comission and in that case you can count your flow before its done.

Jason, this tip is purely to help you stay motivated :) AGREE that you shouldn't "bank" on the commission coming in until it does. And you definitely shouldn't spend it, nor budget for it, but you SHOULD always think about it to stay motivated. You bring a great point!
