You are definitely going to love your new Fusion 480! I bought a new Stealth Fisha 555 back in May and it has far exceeded my expectations! It definitely makes beach launches so much more fun! I would definitely put some sort of stop on your rudder peddles. You definitely don’t want to have the heel section pop forward like that when you’re in the surf zone. Awesome purchase!🎣😃

I have the same boat. I’d like to see what you come up with for scupper plugs in the bait well.
@vr_gamers81164 жыл бұрын
If you're looking for a solution that's easily reversed, some marine grade silicon will work just fine to plug them up from the bottom along with any rubber scupper that fits reasonably well, If you decide you need to use the bait well, just pry it out with a blunt screw driver.

I went (temporarily) with aluminum foil stiffed in from the topside (inside of the bait well) and then drip gorilla glue (polyurethane) on the outside with the boat upside down. It is waterproof so far and it sticks OK to the polyethylene kayak. I haven't tried removing one yet but I assume it's pop out with some force since the plastic is so slippery.

Thanks guys! Getting around to actually doing this 6 months later….. I found some foam golf balls I used as scupper plugs on an old perception kayak I had. They don’t work great if you drill them bc they split but for the live well that wasn’t necessary. I shoved them into the scupper hole until fully sealed. Then I used Lexel the same way you did the gorilla glue. Should be easily removed but 100% waterproof. Thanks again !

Add a strip of Seadeck in each footwell and it should fix your rudder issues and make it more comfy. Amazing mic work. :)

Great review. Do you plan on creating a video with this kayak on one of your dives? I do a lot of spearfishing over at Big Sur and looking to get my first kayak. Seeing how you stored everything in that front storage compartment was the biggest selling point for me - I also use an 82cm speargun and 80cm longfins - that front compartment was perfect for dive gear.

Just wondering.. would you still recommend this as a spearfishing kayak??

did you ask them why so flat at the bottom?

Hey @StealthKayaks , could you comment on the foot pedal thing at 5:05 , is this supposed to happen? Does it happen in your composite boats? Thanks for the sweet boat!

I have seen this issue as well. It is kind of annoying. For now, I have to make sure and put pressure in the middle of the foot pedal.

thanks for the heads up as we def do not have that in the glass kayaks as there is no flex in the glass.simple fix would be to add a 5mm rubber heel pad.This will also stop the heel part from pushing forward and add a little extra comfort.

How do you feel about the weight of the kayak? Is it fairly easy to carry around?
@tomgodbout2293 жыл бұрын
I ask because I’m looking at this same kayak, But possible lighter options to.
@YdocFrench3 жыл бұрын
It’s 65 pounds or so. I can carry it on my shoulder but it ain’t fun. I built a cart that can haul it. Getting it up on the van isn’t too bad just have to get a system and do it the same way each time.
