Nice, when I see 19 minutes at the bottom, I sit back and enjoy. I haven't commented in a few weeks, so first off, I love how you insert people during your presentation, it works really well. And Amanda, well she's a doll, although she hasn't handed you a stun gun in a while. You're a star Kyle, you make these videos so positive, you're realistic and honest about weapons that you won't sell, and all in all, I totally enjoy my Wednesdays. As for laws in my State, I give up, I'm in NY, they have a law for tying your shoes correctly, so I just do what's best for me. I'm going to the community tab, and most obviously, the trench knife is a clear winner. Probably going to buy two, in case of the looming apocalypse I can hold one in forward and one in reverse grip. Finally, when you've chopped the Wing Chun dummy down to three feet, put it on Ebay, I'll buy it!

Last week that jungle combat dagger looks very close to a kunai dagger and adding some cordage or paracord helps create it into another weapon that Kung-fu Warriors and Shaolin Monks used making it have extended reach. These types of weapons used darts and blades like the dagger. My choice today would be that trench knife. Also it looks to be the best one you've shared and tested for us so far.

The trench knife seems like the best straight up option...though if I were wanting to be stealthy the gladius dagger(isn't that basically a pugio?) seems like it would be easier to conceal and would be more stealthy.

Another great W.W as always Kyle and Amanda 👍👍. That trench knife seems like an absolute beast and great apocalypse weapon that I'd love to carry into battle. The Gladius dagger would've been a close 2nd if it had a leather sheath. Nylon is fine I'm just not the biggest fan. The knucks are quite awesome as well and very discreet which I like. The karambit was Kool but something about the tracker stylized blade irritates me lol and the "bottle opener" notch needs to go bye bye lol. I love the honesty when reviewing the hand forged sword and I agree 💯 that you shouldn't sell it, Kool idea but poorly executed imo.

@Karatemart Жыл бұрын
You are correct for most knuckle dusters, Brian. But, there are a lot of knuckle dusters out there that have a slightly more rounded, thick and oval shaped palm grip (similar to a trench knife) that are meant to be used in a punching fashion, so it’s always a good idea to test them out lightly in both ways before going hard with them. Have an awesome week, my friend!

Mr. Woody Dummie deserves a medal!! Hey in my experience the best knuckle dusters are the ones whit a "egg" shaped finger's holes, with the bottom of the "eggs" oriented to the palm. Just like the original guard of the first pattern trench US knife from WWI.

I voted for the carbon fiber knuckles. After a few minutes work with sandpaper, they will interact with the hand much better. Like always, I'd stick with the two finger version and have it placed around the pointing and middle finger. That's the hammer head of a classic boxer's fist.

Good morning Kyle and Amanda. Short sword was a disappointment. I don't usually like karambits, but I liked the tracker karambit. Gladius dagger is nice. Trench knife was wicked. But I think I choose the karambit. Nice throw by the way. Always a pleasure. Cheers ☘️

The Hand Forged Short Sword had real potential. The manufacturer seemed to have a pretty good idea for a sword and do a pretty good job building the sword. The maker has skill that I can only envy. The grips seem to have become an afterthought into which he/she/they put zero effort. Adding a worthwhile hand guard and then finishing the bend of the knuckle guard would have been difficult, but doing so would have improved this sword. Injection molded grips could be made to be a one-piece grip system around the handle, but I realize that injection molding isn't available for everyone. A two-piece grip system held together with epoxy and pins would probably be robust enough. If the grips were made of a nice pakkawood, they might look nice. Those improvements alone might have made this sword good enough to sell. I tend to prefer forward-curving blades to backward-curving blades, but a more gracefully-executed backward curve would help this sword. I know that hand-forging a curve must be difficult, but I think this sword would look better if the curve were further forward on the blade and continued all the way to the tip. On this blade, the curve appears to be half to two-thirds of the way down the blade with a straight portion running the last ten or twenty percent to the tip. If I understand the theory of backward-curving blades, the value of the curve is to have the blade hitting the opponent at only one spot because the curvature of the blade draws the blade away from the opponent except at that point of contact. The result is that all of the force is concentrated at one point and gives maximum depth of slice. If putting that curvature at the end of the blade is too difficult, a straight blade would be a better choice. In some ways, a straight blade might look better with this hand-forged look anyway. A straight blade would give this short sword a little more length for no more use of steel. A forward-curving blade would need to have a deeper belly in order to produce that heavy chopping power that we associate with kukris or falcatas. Maybe that look wouldn't work. If the maker decided to add a hand guard, a perpendicular "nail" for thumb protection like we see on some of the German messers would look cool as well. I could see where turning this whole thing into an "apocalyptic messer" might work very well. I'm guessing that this sword was supposed to sell in the thirty or forty dollar range as it is. By the time someone made all of these changes, the sword would probably need to sell in the hundred to one-hundred-fifty dollar range or higher. Making and fitting a hand guard would add quite a bit of labor, particularly a fancier hand guard with a thumb protector. Reworking the tang to accept good grip panels would add a little bit of cost. Making and fitting the grips would add quite a bit of cost. Even so, that short sword with a straight blade or just a slight backwards curve at the end would look better and should be much, much more functional.

I agree on the hand forged sword. It needs work. Stupid question. Isn't one of the benefits of the knuckle duster is added weight to a punch. Much like holding a roll of quarters when you punch. Added mass!
@justachievements1974 Жыл бұрын
When it comes to knuckle dusters it adds Mass to your punch, but also the impact of being hit by whatever is coming off the knuckle dusters like spikes or anything else!
