Great explanation. We have our own business in Dallas Texas. We also do installation, repairs, stretching, and cleaning. What I can also tell you, that you may already know is, Polyester is harder to clean than Nylon carpet. Nylon is softer, silky, and repells stains and does well with high traffic areas. For some reason polypropylene and polester absorb foot traffic and stains more. Very good explanation. Have you tried degreaser in these instances?

That makes me feel much better. My carpet is 18 years old, but despite not having professional equipment, I got the dirt out using a combination of cleaning agents.

Luckily for them thats not a lot of carpet to replace. Great job at the cleaning and your explanation.

I actually use to make carpet if it’s wool carpet it can be saved if it’s nylon carpet it’ll never go bad what you cleaned was a nylon carpet these carpets fade over time simply because most of our brands could be cleaned with bleach , an it wouldn’t turn white but would fade over time if you could ship that carpet back to the plant we’d have it looking brand new in 30 minutes! Believe it or not we have rolls that’s been sitting outside uncovered for decades just waiting to be dyed because it will never rot it can break down but not from sand or the dirt it’s simply the shoe rubber! That tears the fibers apart but heat an a big bat machine which is huge forks will rerake the fiber an the fiber naturally twists back together an fluffs from heat an then it’s dyed an startched

I always stress how you never want to wear shoes outside and then wear them inside. My carpet is minimally worn because it’s frequently vacuumed and cleaned every 2 years. I also never wear shoes inside unless those shoes are new.

I wish I could convince my step-father to do the same but he is extremely stubborn and doesn't care if the house is dirty.

@@mrbanana6464 To try and help convince your step-dad, buy him a pair of comfy house shoes and have them at the ready for him to change into when he gets home. Everyone in my house has a pair, and 2 extras for guests.

How often do you recommend cleaning your carpet to prevent trafficwear.

Who puts carpet in a rental and tiles with grout? That is gross. Luxury Vinyl flooring would prevent all this.

You underestimate people for how filthy and disgusting the majority of them are. There wasn't anything that can save you from dirty ass people. If they had contractors inside I can guarantee you they had holes in the walls and most likely a mice issue.
