Where I am from, we call them clamburgers. I never heard anyone use the phrase "steamed clams". But maybe that's because it's a regional dialect from upstate New York. This video was afterall from The New York Times

Don't throw your dead clams away they make great soil fertilizer as well as the shell which adds calcium to the soil although you have to break the shell down haste makes waste.

Melissa, you have just contradicted yourself. At 31 seconds you said don't keep clams in the fridge as that will suffocate them which is bad then at 1minute 40 secs you said clams will take 10 minutes to cook it straight out of the fridge. You have confused me, can you keep clams in the fridge or not?
