FUN FACT: I have a GT350, and it's my understanding that, the exhaust tips are built into the rear-fascia to keep them separated from the exhaust and act as a heat-shield. This is because, during production and extended track time, the exhaust was actually melting the rear-fascia.

No comparison between the 350R and the GT500. GT500 hands down. The FPC could not handle boost. They beefed up the 5.2. Even the 2020 GT350 got the better block for 2020 . I own a 2019 GT350 (non-R) and I'm always torn between "mo' powah baby" and how much fun the car is to drive. The reason I got the non-r is because I daily mine often, though my commute isn't far. She definitely gets look and the ruby red, black top, and dual black strikes really make it pop. If the GT500 has the side fairings, the manual option, and the same godly exhaust note, then it'd be in the 500's favor. Also, we don't know the longevity of the 5.2L Voodoo motor. Not up to 100K miles and beyond, that is. So far, my engine burns no oil. She's stout and never had a problem. I'm hoping to keep it that way, but debate on boosting it with some low PSI with twin turbos (FatHouse Fabs?) But that's the beauty of the car community. There isn't a "one size fits all". It's all about passion and enjoying all aspects provided across the spectrum!

It’s just so weird the way Shelby and ford didn’t upgrade the tail lights or headlights on the gt350. Especially the tail lights easy swap and the fact that they didn’t update the headlights on the gt500. The mustang line looks weird because of the headlight difference this generation. They should’ve just kept the headlights and updated them to LED on the S550 instead of changing the shape. Even though I like the new shape way more than the old droopy eye “fusion like” headlights on the 15-17 and current shelbys. It’s very annoying to have 2 different types because ford didn’t wanna invest more in R&D to develop new aero due to a fromt fascia redesign.

For all the videos I've seen in comparison to these two great machines, I think generally everyone can visibly be seen enjoying the GT350R more than the GT500. Unfortunately for me... I don't my myself being able to drive a manual that great... I would probably hurt the car more even if I like the GT350R so I'm left with the GT500 option someday. I suppose I can learn and gain more experience... but the thought of grinding gears and stalling something like the GT350 is a nightmare. It's something a car like that doesn't deserve.
@davidbresnahan2227 Жыл бұрын
Simple solution is to buy a cheaper car to learn on that has a robust transmission. Something like an older Miata or hot hatch. Once you are done learning on it, you can sell it and recoup most of the money you spent on it because they have already fully depreciated. Then you can transition into a higher horsepower manual sports car that won’t be quite as forgiving.
