Also IDPA versus USPSA Aluminum will make weight w right magwell for IDPA and you can shoot ported For Limited Optics the steel or aluminum works but can’t shoot ported barrel Thanks for making this video- good info

Can confirm. I use aluminum grips for USPSA because the transition between targets is faster and I'm less likely to over-transition.

Thanks for the conversation the other day, let me know when you do a 4.6, your work is extraordinary.

Is there really considerable chances of cracks in aluminum grips on 40S&W Major Factor?
@LeoDeLeon7077 ай бұрын
Thanks for covering this. What about the longevity of aluminum grips? Are the aluminum grips lasting just as long? I have heard the early aluminum grips cracked and just didn’t last.
@HayesCustomGuns7 ай бұрын
We have not had a single grip, steel or aluminum break. So in my opinion, the durability is equal.
@LeoDeLeon7077 ай бұрын
@@HayesCustomGuns And I am uncertain of this but maybe the aluminum grips from years past were on major limited or open guns. Thanks for the reply. I myself have been contemplating using an aluminum grip on a 9 minor gun.

Major PF is very abusive on all parts, not just grips.

I shoot uspsa. This is my first season with a 2011 (switch from canik.) I have the staccato xl limited edition with the island barrel. Should i go aluminum or steel to help with balance? Having a hard time getting my scores back to what i could do with the light canik. So far, i am not impressed with the 2011 thing, but want to give it a fair shake. The wife got it for me as a gift, so i am really trying to make it work.

@@corbinschad1 The XL would not be my first pick for USPSA. The longer slide tends to be better suited for longer shots and is not really “built for speed”. I would not put more money into your XL.

Great info. Follow up vid perhaps on the 3rd option for 2011s, polymer?
@HayesCustomGuns7 ай бұрын
We don’t offer polymer grip options. Polymer is only used because it’s cheap and easy. We don’t do either of those ;)

Sir, and for an open gun in 9mm major, what would be your opinion on which grip to choose? And speaking of compensators, which one do you like the most?
@HayesCustomGuns7 ай бұрын
We recommend people stay away from Major PF guns. Major PF stresses every part of the gun and as a builder, they are nothing but a headache.
@MrTyler2you7 ай бұрын
Well, that (no Major Power Factor) kind of makes it difficult to shoot Open doesn’t it? As long as you know going in that your gun is going to get used up in a few years and you can afford the expense, why not? It’s kind of like motorsports-if you want to go fast it’s going to cost you some money. Worst I’ve done to my Open guns is crack a couple of slides and wear out some barrels. All easily repaired.
@alinsongeros87797 ай бұрын
@@MrTyler2you In the USA it would be very easy. I agree with you, but I live in Brazil. A Slide would have to be imported, just like the pipe, and unfortunately, it is not possible. The legislation does not allow it.

@@alinsongeros8779 Do people shoot IPSC Open division with major power factor in Brazil? Maybe just wealthy folks that can replace entire guns when they break.
