Step 1: download synthesia Step 2: download midi for any track Step 3: treat it like guitar hero for piano Step 4: repeat this with all the classics until you score 100% every time and can wean off of synthesia Step 5: apply what you've learned to your own music, borrowing chords is perfectly acceptable in this industry. Happens all the time. I would say melodics would be the go-to, but they dont support loading your own midi (BOOOOOO) Synthesia can bring you to an expert level of keyboard/piano playing. they need to do the same for more instruments

I didn’t know that could be used to learn piano. I thought synthesia was only used to visualize to others what we want to do. Not a guitar hero type app. I’m going to check into when I get home. Live lessons are so expensive. 😜

Hi stefan always a pleasure to watch your videos. YO doing so much for the Rnb community ! Melodics seems to be dope! I just wanted to start working on the piano, harmony and chords, I am a fan of harmony and beautiful chords to compose beautiful pieces and beautiful melodies! I have worked a lot on beatmaking over the past 2 years and I feel the need to go back to just piano harmony. This tool looks perfect! I really liked your video on how to make a rich rnb bass. it was very well explained and it motivates you to learn your scales. Great demonstration a big thank you to you for all that!

Quit subscribing to melodics. Go get synthesia, and just download the songs you want to learn in a midi format. Ive never NOT been able to find midi formats of any song. They're out there. Load your own midi, learn what YOU want to learn, not what melodics offers to teach you. Melodics has a better UI but it's vastly inferior because they refuse to add in midi support and that's why their numbers are drastically declining instead of growing. Do what you wanna do, but I'm just here to tell you synthesia is better. You'll learn faster, too.

@@largepoodle6036 Well, that’s an interesting perspective. But is synthesis going to teach me how to play a keyboard with my hands? Is it going to inspire me to lay down interesting ways of playing on the fly? Is it going to teach me to, well, play live performances? And why can I not learn both synthesis AND playing music and get the best of both worlds? I do know a thing or two about MIDI, and a thing or two about synthesis (which I’m continuing to learn). Cool if you feel that Melodics is inferior, but I actually found it really helpful for deciphering and getting to know all fo the theory and language of music in a way that’s fun and informative. And what makes you think that I’m not learning what I want to learn? I otherwise would not have subscribed to it, if I didn’t feel it’s worth it. It’s all cool if you have issues with it; I personally don’t. But I do appreciate your taking the time to let me know.

@@stefanguy That is me everytime I mess up! Especially near the end like what happened to you. Gives me PTSD back to my Guitar Hero/Rock Band days haha. I let my membership lapse after really being in a grove with Melodics all of 2020. I'm about to re up again and get back on the horse!

PTSD 😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣 yeah man, it’s easy for the mind to wander and that’s when it hits you! When I used to play in church I’d play whilst the preacher was preaching. I’d often just cycle through a few chord progressions and I had played them so often I’d somethings drop into auto pilot, I’d be thinking about what’s for lunch or what I’m going to do when I got home. Let’s just say bump notes have most definitely been played in a hall full of people 😂. But yeah man jump back on it, i’m having fun with it!

@@stefanguy cool thanks. I learn everything in D minor / F major, and use real time transposition to compose, and so few company give enough transposition features. Check Irving Berlin, a great composer from the 1900s
