@@kennyp8071 - the difference is the coaches actually correct bad behavior in college--it's a disservice to not be tough on them. Stop it with the money... this is reflected in public high schools (where the coaches make next to nothing), smaller colleges or even these same programs just a couple of decades ago before the contracts exploded... this is not something new that arrived when the coaches began getting big time money.

Same exact thing happened between Izzo and Aaron Henry 2 years ago and everyone got all upset at that as well. What happened? 2 Years later Aaron Henry has grown into a player that practically willed the Spartans into a tournament everyone said they had no chance of making. Why do we feel things are soft now? Let me put it this way Back in the day: kid 1 hits kid 2. Kid 2 hits kid one back. Now: kid 1 hits kid 2. Kid 2 is told that he has to tell the teacher. And if he hits back, he (kid 2) will get punished. True story

As a Michigan State fan myself, I don’t blame Izzo. This year, as a whole, has sucked. He’s just mad because bad plays have continued to happen, and we have continued to not be the great team we’ve been in our recent years. The Illinois, Ohio State, and Mich wins were good, but 15-13 shows why he’s mad. Izzo’s lowest winning season in his tenure at Michigan State. Yes, COVID impacted that, but we should’ve had 17, with wins over the home game vs Purdue and UCLA. Hopefully next year will be better. It should be.

There is a line. This obviously did not cross it. At this level of play, players and coaches hold each other accountable. If I saw my child get that treatment in an elementary or middle school league I would likely have words with the coach. But in the upper ranks of competitive high school and beyond - this happens all the time. And Izzo has done this for years so it shouldn't be to anyone's surprise to see this and then get bent out of shape over it.
