This has been my favourite film since 1988 when I was 4 years old! I recorded this song on my old tape recorder and listened to it ad infinitum!

I feel your every breath, I hear the words you say And I keep turning back, to hear the music play I make no promises, those promises can break you How can you call me home, wanting me like yesterday Where do we build a house, how do the roses grow? Are you and I in love, how do we really know? If love is on our side, you'll know when I'm trouble That's when my heart decides, to go wherever you will go The heart is so willing to follow The heart shows the way out of the night The heart runs in search of tomorrow When love takes the hand that guides the light When shadows fall, and there's no one there to hear I'll listen How do we fix the moon, how do we change the sky? How can I make you laugh, the way I make you cry? I make no promises, those promises can break you But love's no accident, and time is on our side The heart is so willing to follow The heart shows the way out of the night The heart runs in search of tomorrow When love takes the hand that guides the ligh

THIS is the version I wanted! Thanks! I used to love this song so much, I taped it on my ‘boom box’ directly from the TV. Made me a fan of bishop.

I did that, too. Put my tape recorder in front of the T.V. to record songs I liked. So Old School.

Tom Hanks nailed this it was a really goofy movie but it was good 👍

Now he's a multiple-Oscar-winner for serious roles, everyone forgets what a brilliant comic performer Hanks was during the 80s, and this might be his funniest ever performance (along with The Burbs).

I never heard that song before... HOW SHAMEFUL!! Honestly, I've just finished watching the movie for the first time. I mean, since Hollywood and even Tom Hanks has changed so drastically I've got lots of free time to first-time-watch all the 80s and 90s movies I've didn't watch back then because I was a child and teenager with millions of things better to do. It's those kind of songs of the 80s that get me going every time and everywhere the first seconds if hearing them. Just like the others...for example "the secret of my success" movie thingy from our 8os star Michael j Fox...and that opening song.... So awesome. And actually I'm more into 2000s rap and rock music...still these kind of music overshadows any of the rap and rock music. What only is it that makes these 80s music, movies and shows so great? Some others might have said it too... The 80s arts/culture was so "lightweight" basically. It was like "hope" was something good, unlike today were it seems it is nothing like weight to hold you down. The stuff from 80a was just overall lifting...lifting up. Everything was possible and nothing was impossible, even mission impossible were possible. It's a shame what happened to the world from the 2005 until today. The world has gone crazy like never before. The biggest differences from today compared to the 80s is...the internet became a spot of commerce and especially money. And with it came identity because we identified ourselves in the real world, something you can't in today's internet - anti social media world. That's why they try to compensate and ruin even the real, the analog world. There you go people. The reason why music today is so saddening instead of uplifting! That was a "live-by reflection" (of you will) of myself. I made that word up just in that moment of writing. Just for you readers. So I'm not sure if I made it up correctly. Usually I make neologisms in german, not english. It's weird though. In the 80s even sad songs lifted you up. Today it's totally different - even happy songs are saddening you to hell. Absolutely cracy that is. ^^ Cheers

Aparentemente parece una canción sencilla de alguien poco conocido. Pero es un temazo, tiene un ritmo exquisito y hecho con muy buen gusto y amor. Me parece una canción fantástica para una película genial y divertidísima. Grande Steven Bishop, grande Steven Spielberg, grande Tom Hanks. 09-04-2024
