I used to go swing dancing. After not going for a long time, I decided to go again. I was in my 30s and really feeling that I didn’t have the energy I had in my 20s when I danced more frequently. Then there was a woman there who was 84 or 85, and she could dance circles around me without getting out of breath. She competed in race walking in the Senior Olympics so lived an active lifestyle. There was a time I was trying to take up jogging to get in shape. I would motivate myself by thinking of that Indian man in NY who was age 100 and competing in marathons, saying to myself “If a 100 year old can run a marathon, surely I can make it 1 mile.”
