Trump never stopped campaigning, even while he was in office. He blew up all the protocols, precedents and norms in that arena! Like he did in so many other areas of the Presidency. He's not a decent man and doesn't have a care in the world about ruining our democracy. He's made the lack of civility normal, and so many are now following his bad behavior. It's acceptable now to call people names, threaten and bully everyone over the smallest of things, and show their guns or shoot someone because they now believe that that's their 1st amendment right, (it's not), per Trump & his enablers.

A news outlet from Vancouver was complaining today that the province of BC had gone to the polls in some fashion once every year since 2013, except for 2016. I’ve voted over 20 times by mail in the US alone, in that same period. Not including the Canadian elections I’ve voted in, too.

Back when The Late Show announced Stephen as the new host upon Lettermen’s retirement, I thought, they could have not done better. Well here we are, he has not disappointed in the least. John and the band are fantastic, the writers are brilliant, this show has it all. Having said that, I still miss the Colbert character of the old show. Funny how he got out at just the right time. If, by example, 5 states understand that climate change and its causes from industrial pollutants is very real, but 2 states don't "believe in climate change", and then those 2 states get to call the race because of the Electoral College...well, you tell me what's wrong with that picture. That's an oligarchy, not a democracy. Fuck your goddamn beliefs. Any smart society knows that in order for it to survive, you don't ignore scientists. Since Y2K, we've seen the devestating consequences of this upsidedown system. It has to change. It HAS to. I love how Canada has a short, but reasonable campaign period for their elections, but the truth is this snap election was still a waste of money. Trudeau only picked up 2 or 3 seats in Parliament, which means he still has to negotiate with other parties to get anything done. So his election is a success, but in terms of gaining more seats to have a solid majority to pass legislation without the threat of being defeated, not so much.

Sometimes Meyers also goes into appearance which I think is wrong. Punch up not down. Yes, the target this time is well off and powerful but the appearance (lips, fat, etc.) joke can be applicable to others.
