As a Catholic, I sometimes feel like I belong to a religion of nerds, this seriously adds to that feeling. I love the practice of St. Joseph selling houses. There are a ton of stories out there, a lot of them come from a friend of a friend, but others are mores trustworthy. My favorite story, that is one I think might have happened, but not going to say I outright believe in (kind of like Big Foot) is one of St. Joseph selling a landfill. Someone buried a statue of St. Joseph, and for months, his house didn't sell. Eventually, he dug up the statue in frustration and threw it in the garbage. A week later, he read in the newspaper that the city landfill had been sold.

Ever read Luke 13:24 in accordance to Romans 8:17 in accordance to 1 Corinthians 13:3 [Where LOVE is defined in 1 Corinthians 13:4-7.] Then take another STEP toward Heaven gained by EARTH. Luke 9:23-26. ' Then he said to all, “If anyone wishes to come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me. For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will save it. What profit is there for one to gain the whole world yet lose or forfeit himself? Whoever is ashamed of me and of my words, the Son of Man will be ashamed of when he comes in his glory and in the glory of the Father and of the holy angels. ' [Luke 9:23-26] To NOT seek HIM is YOUR insanity, not me. i will but to disown HIM, TRUTH! TO not loose in me SPOKE, at least. Hell is my gain the same. What is Heaven about? What TV show, makes it an easy rowed to toll?? Catholic is NOT just a "Freebie to Heaven" card. The saints were NOT just extras given, to look at. Called wonderful by you. But to become. The others, not saints, decided NOT to be. About you? You only have one vote, your free will. Never minds what them doing, but YOU. Hell is a DARKISH that you do NOT want to take chances with. You understand little of what is JUST about to take place in this World. Want to live, with your heart most. But NOT even a speck that of a moment in Hell. Our Lord only uses sarcasm to make one ponder, why one is NOT using their heart. Show me where humor was a virtue. Making fun of something, show me in Scriptures. Show about His Church, not praising HIM is really messed up! Posting on the Internet, is a misquote you. Angels bow before HIM, wake up!!

Oh. They're quizzing each other on Catholic beliefs. For example, Catholics believe that Mary (the mother of Jesus) has appeared in visions to groups of people several times throughout history - most famously at Mount Carmel, Israel in the 13th century; Guadalupe, Mexico in 1531; Lourdes, France in 1858; Fatima, Portugal in 1917; and Medjugroje, Bosnia in 1981. St. Joseph (the father of Jesus) is the patron saint of family homes (since he provided Jesus' childhood home), and in the US it's a tradition for Catholics to bury a statue of St. Joseph in your yard in order to sell your home. That's not an official Catholic belief, and I don't know why it must be upside down. A monstrance is a vessel used to carry the bread which is believed to be the body of Jesus (since in the Gospel of John, Jesus said "This is My Body.") And a scapular (which means "shoulders") is a garment that Catholics wear from their shoulders as a devotion to Jesus - the belief is that Mary introduced it at Mount Carmel, saying "whosoever wears this scapular shall never endure the fires of Hell." Does that answer your question?
@liammac55403 жыл бұрын
Oh how I enjoyed this video with two people whom I really enjoy watching. It was almost like a Catholic game show. Contraceptives, any kind, are an evil. Mortal sin. No special devices needed, to kill your soul. Your only Soul Mate is Jesus. You want Holy Communion most in this World, longing for Him all the time. When you do LOVE are Lord all the TIME. Cheap date. The saints were NOT superheroes. Started like everyone ELSE. Like Mother and Jesus. Your goal most is...? In 100 years, be trying to obtain HERE now. As In Heaven, as should be doing on Earth. Learning to do MORE, nonstop. Your relationship with HIM should be more than any human, besides Mother. Talking to Him all the time. Devotionals only work when Jesus is YOUR only Savior and you are striving for Heaven most. Part of the "many" group in Luke 13:24. No breaks in Heaven. They only do the Father's Will. Remember every Sunday, Our Lord's Prayer. Darkness is coming like no human eyes have seen before, or heart can endure it not prepared to die for Jesus. Self-pity is not loving yourself. Or HIM most.

Well, strictly, the Catholic Church is absolutely silent on whether Mary did or did not experience a bodily death. It is dogma that she was assumed into heaven but it has not made a pronouncement on whether she died first or was assumed alive. FYI.

As a catholic, I never heard a story that in order to sell your house fast, you have to bury the statue of Saint Joseph upside down.....

+Sheep King They did great! - I've seen Stephen do this sort of thing with others, like Jack White of the White Stripes. They both were right (& wrong) about Mary's bodily Assumption - the Church has not ruled on if Mary died or was taken up by her Son still alive. I believe the dogmatic proclamation was worded "...at the end of her natural life..." They got the major Marian apparitions correct but did you know one occurred in Champion, WI? Međugorje is not yet approved, either, so that shouldn't yet be on the list (or at least not on my list). Also, the St. Joseph statue as real estate agent is a funny story but I do cringe when people believe the burying upside down business - there's a real danger of it going from pious prayers for intercession of the Lord's earthly father to becoming a dangerous faith in a good luck charm.All-in-all great fun and it is nice to see Catholic-on-purpose-and-joyfully-so people in entertainment sharing their common faith.

The church traditionally teaches that Mary did die, and the tradition says that the Apostle Thomas missed the funeral, arriving 4-days late. Upon arriving, he insisted on opening her tomb, declaring that he wanted “to see the body of the Mother of our Lord one last time”, whence they discovered that her tomb was empty.
@theresahenderson24243 жыл бұрын
nope......Mary went into a state of dormition, and was assumed into heaven. If you don't agree, lets agree to not agree. Both of us, I'm sure need to learn more about our faith, the one we profess.
@GuadalupePicasso3 жыл бұрын
@@theresahenderson2424 the word “Dormition” means “falling asleep”, and is what the church traditionally called death for those in the faith. I’m a Byzantine Catholic, and we specifically celebrate Mary’s Dormition, and I assure you that we agree on this point far mode than you’re letting on.
