Joseph Hernandez I think Jackie’s take on it was anna would have integrity and dignity knowing she handled it the way her mother would have and knowing her mother would’ve been proud that way would make Anna proud 🤷🏻♀️But Isabell gave her quick satisfaction I don’t know maybe both was a good idea Technically it was long-term versus short-term satisfaction

@itsjemmabond5 жыл бұрын
Actually, that was when Isabel corrected Anna's drawing.
@jessicacampbell41425 жыл бұрын
itsjemmabond ya that is true. There was still a couple of moments here and there where she was rude to Isabel after that though. Either way, regardless it is important that she had a good relationship with her stepmom.

As someone who was bullied, the fact that the step parent of all people does more then the parent does in this situation make me smile so much. I've always gotten the advice of "Just ignore them" but bullies don't stop just because you ignore them, that only tells them no one will stop them. I love this scene because Julie Robert's character wants to do right by her stepdaughter and teach her to stand up for herself even if she gets a little help in the process. Not only is the bully shot down the step daughter now learns she can stand up for herself and not be pushed around. This is real parenting even if it's a stage show.

I wish good step moms for all children. My husband had 2 total step moms, and one of them was awful to him. Made him feel like a nuisance, with her own 3 kids. The other step mom had no children of her own, and made my husband feel at home. He was a teen by that point, but he still talks about her and how appreciative he was. She'd make his favorite meals when he was with them for the week. Thst goes a long way in making a kid/teen feel welcome.

I completely agree. Remember the scene with the concert?? How Isabelle mentioned and Jacki was like “she is too young and it’s a school night.” And then she went behind Isabelles back and got the tickets. But yet she did have cancer and was dying so I see where she would be the way she was. She just wanted to make Isabelle feel guilty. But it made her feel horrible to see her daughter connecting with Isabelle knowing she was dying
@tolliver153 жыл бұрын
@@SouthernBelleWhisper Jackie wanted to assert her authority as Anna's mother; I also think that Jackie selfishly wanted to have that concert and memory for Anna to look back on, as mother and daughter, and for her to not have it with Isabel, to be like, "We are going to have this memory together, not you (Isabel)," and "my mom was so cool, she took me to a concert on a school night!" when she passes away. I can see both sides of why it was wrong of Jackie to do that.
