Got mine like two weeks ago and it’s the best guitar I’ve ever played in this price point. I’ve owned and tried Schecter, Fender, and Gibson, and while this is my first 7 string I have absolutely no regrets, it plays and feels amazing.
@brendanlucero85853 жыл бұрын
Is it worth the money? ive been wanting a good 7 string and PRS wants $13K for a 7 string because i dont want their Holcomb model.
@rmshredz3 жыл бұрын
@@brendanlucero8585 I actually have both this sterling and the Holcomb 7 lol this sterling is still my main axe, it plays like a dream and sounds great. I’m hoping to upgrade to the EBMM because I like it so much. Imo this is the best 7 string on the market for the price point. The neck is wide/thin but super comfortable, locking tuners and the bridge are stable, and I’m a big fan of how the Pickup hardware is configured. The db boost doesn’t do *too* much but you can hear a difference, and the coil split sounds pretty nice too. Tl;dr - it works for me well and I really like it. Highly recommend it.
@brendanlucero85853 жыл бұрын
@@rmshredz Ok ill take your word for it. fyi i have nothing against the Holcomb model other than the purple on it. other than that, i would've probably bought it already.
@rmshredz3 жыл бұрын
@@brendanlucero8585 have you seen the walnut satin one? It’s the model I have, I love the natural wood finish. It’s another great guitar and the pickups are also great, but the neck is a bit thicker and took me some more getting used to after playing the JR for so long. The two things that annoy me about the PRS are the nut (it’s garbage plastic and will have to replace it) and the pickup selector position (too far and can’t switch quickly). Ps Did some covers with both guitars on my channel if you’re curious enough to check it out :)
@brendanlucero85853 жыл бұрын
@@rmshredz I am curious as a matter of fact. i will for sure check it out. I have seen the Wood finished Holcomb model and I'm sure its a great guitar but I'm super picky about looks on a guitar and I'm not a fan of the light colored head stock. perhaps ill get one anyway seeing as it's objectively a good guitar and maybe I'm just being picky.

Really nice price on that, i love the fit and finish of that guitar. I, Like you, do not really play 7 strings, so i wish they would make a 6 string version, maybe with a Evertune or Wilkinson bridge, but i know it'll never happen. Floyd Rose Original would be my top choice, with Fishman pickups. Oh well, it's nice to dream.

I mean, I love Ernie Ball guitars, especially the JP series, but for this price point I would rather get an Ibanez Rg550 or Schecter. Sterling's pretty dope but I really don't think they can complete seriously because I don't see the price to worth ratio.

@@mattlombardi54 they are $899 which IMO is terrible for the features you get. no name pickups, no name tuners, and indonesian made when you can get an MIM charvel dk24, Korean ESP or schecter of your choice all which have Grovers or spertzels and Name brand EMGs/Seymour duncans.

The price wouldn't matter if you're a huge JR fan... since that would be the case, they wouldn't consider other options BECAUSE they're not JR sig models. The fact they made a cheaper model is a good thing for those that can't afford the 3K US model...
